Blame one guy if you want, and what he did was pretty dumb - but it's still a team game.

I imagine a guy like Perron is just getting frustrated, having come from a winning environment into a losing one, and playing hard without seeing any results on the scoreboard.

Guys like that get more and more desperate to make a difference, to the point they take bad penalties.

I think clutch and grab penalties (holding, hooking, interference, tripping) are another good indication of the other team winning the possession battle.

We did a good job for a while, but as the game wore on their forecheck was very powerful and we had a hard time getting similar sustained pressure - lots of guys were trying to "make it last" any way they knew how.

A good effort, but another indication for me of how our problems are mostly related to Zone exits and boardplay in our own corners. In short, we need that top defender and that was on display today.

it was the kind of performance that makes you take a look at a guy and question whether he's part of the plan long-term

That's a little excessive

he was pretty dominant otherwise. That's not something you call with 6 minutes left in a tie game where you've already given the team 5PPs.

I mostly agree with you, but the third penalty perron took was a nescessity as the defender ( Don't remember which one) was caught out of position leaving a clear path to the net for sheppard. perron was forced into making a bad penalty. I believe the frist two penalties were brutal but the third one he was forced into making.... imo

Good point too- also they took the 3 best guys, put them on one line leaving perron out to dry and he still played very well minus the penalties... bout time we got to see the team play somewhat near their potential.

Ryan, Hendricks TOI was no doubt due to all the penalty kills.

I wouldn't blame the coach for that.

Perron has been one of the only bright spots this season. If he takes a few dumb penalties once in awhile I am ok with that. He has been the only one with a heart beat this year most games. This game wouldn't have been close if it wasn't for the Nuge finally playing a game to his potential. You want to blame someone blame the Nuge for finally having a good game 70 some games into the season. If you ask me losing by only one goal is a victory compared to what I thought the score was going to be. I have noticed Perron takes dumb penalties at bad times or 200ft from his net and isn't the greatest defensively most likely why the Blues let him go. This shows how bad the Oilers are, he is one of are best and the Blues just let him walk and haven't even noticed but in Edmonton he is a god. Sad

Was good overall effort. Good to see Nuge finally break out. I was wondering if the extra weight was messing with his game. Takes time to adjust I guess.
