As discussed, if Eakins had managed better special teams, not only would our players be more confident at 5 on 5, we'd be far higher in the standings goaltending or no.

This year, we've scored 41 PP goals in 76 games and allowed 13 SHG

Did he actually put weight on during the season? I know he's listed at 185 but can't remember what he was last year. 175?

I think a summer to actually work out without a bum shoulder will be huge for him.

Word a few weeks back was that he has been on a strict workout regimen this year and has put on 9 lbs of muscle since the start of the season. To me he looks a step slower out there. I would guess that would put him in the 195 range?

The bright side is that a PP can be remedied,especially with the talent we have.A solid summer of studying and maybe hiring a PP coach and it should improve.

This team still has to improve 5X5 though, and that,I think, is harder to teach.

Wow that's awful I knew it was bad but didn't think that bad! So basically if we were on pace for last years special teams numbers we would have 58 pp goals after 82 games and 2 short handed goals against...that right there could have this poopty team close to a playoff spot

Probably true, but everyone last year talked about how good this power play was and they had below average 5on5. This year we notice how much worse or PP is and consider our 5on5 just average. People don't notice things as much unless it puts up goals
