Stats aren't as telling for Beaulieu because he plays on a terrible team compared to the 2009-2010 Dogs and since he began his Pro career at 19, being a late birthday, but he's indeed too good for the AHL, the play looks very slow to him.

He has the skating to handle a fast team like Tampa, and while he still has to gain physical maturity, he can handle NHL players.

Add to that that he has more mileage in the Pros than Subban had in 2010 and that he looked pretty good prior to the Olympic break.

Almost everyone though he'd stick with the Habs for good.

Subban's experience in 2009-2010: 77games in the AHL and two in the NHL

Beaulieu's Pro experience currently: 120+ games in the AHL and 22 games in the NHL

- QuebecPride

i agree that he looked capable before the Olympic break but i just don't see him getting called up at this point unless one of Markov or Subban goes down.

So, what, now you have 2 Subbans?
- twiztedmike

I don't think Beaulieu's as good as Subban, nor should he ever become as good. He could become as good as Subban, but he'll have to have a terrific ascension when he reaches the NHL which is not very likely to happen.

On the other side, expecting Beaulieu to become a similar player to Leddy/Spurgeon is realistic and likely to happen.

Beaulieu is an alpha male.

Ah. You see that wasn't part of my review. Let me rethink this.

an entire paragraph to say absolutely nothing.

you could easily become _nay_ but you may not become _nay but you might become _nay if you eventually turn out to be like _nay_

I'm guessing it's his high speed vision that's (frank)ing him up.

I don't think he'll be called up before the end of the AHL season, but I think if he's called upon, he'll handle himself alright. I'd rather have both him and Tinordi in than Bouillon and Murray.

Fortunately for us, Therrien will be forced to sit one of the latter two when Gorges comes back.

I would not be surprised to see Beaulieu inserted in the lineup if the Habs can't produce any offense vs Tampa.

his skillset would definitely be needed against Tampa, way more so than Murray/Bouillon/Tinordi.

No.

Their best trade is Conacher for Bishop.

May be a little early to judge that one.
Especially considering he could leave July 1.

Gorges - Weaver
Markov - Emelin

Could do a good job on PK, no need for Murray.

Markov - Emelin
Gorges - Subban
Beaulieu/Tinordi - Weaver

i don't see it that way. i don't look at a defenceman's mobility and his ability to move the puck as strictly an offensive component of the game. those are attributes that can be used in the defensive zone as well. against a heavy forecheck like Tampa's you need dmen who can get back quickly and move the puck out of the danger zone quickly. and when Beaulieu was up, he played pretty responsibly in that regard. didn't dazzle anyone offensively but looked solid on D.
