I think it's the HB equivalent of a syringe trade-off place. they basically figure if they can stay busy there they're not elsewhere.

You're talking as if we have a good/great team.

We have a average team and you know it. Nobody including you expected the Habs to have a decent record. REmember that game we watched with that fog DT? It's the same team ( except for Vanek). A team that can be good on one night and horrible the next one.

- WaterBoy

you utterly and hopelessly clueless. the pre-season sentiment in here was that if Price had a strong season, Montreal was a playoff team. and that's exactly what happened. i'm not saying we have a great team. i'm saying that there is more talent on this roster than people give credit for. an All-Star goalie and Norris-winning dman is a pretty good place to start. and before Vanek kicked it into high gear with DD and Pacioretty, we were in precarious playoff positioning. like i said, i'm not criticizing Therrien. i'm simply saying that the argument that this team is barren of talent is complete bullpoop.

I don't think its outrageous to be sceptical of the team's chances. At the same time I'm sure HO will cheer for them to win as much as anyone here.

Where this hope comes from?

I just find it cheap to say that the Habs are an average team when they stand 2nd in the division. They aren't great but they are good. An all-star goalie, 2 elites D in Subban and Markov and finally with Vanek acquisition a true first line. They also have a good grinding line with Prust and Moen back in the line-up. It's not a great team but it sure is a good team.
