Lets call it an early wedding gift.
I think you found a trade that all 3 teams would not make.
Maybe the Oilers make it, but with the way they value players, I doubt it. - PhillySportsGuy
I found it very hard to do, actually. If it wasn't for the "mystique" of the 1st overall pick, it would be easier. But I know Buffalo would want a random for the #1 pick, and I know they'd be reluctant to move it and Myers (although Myers is helping to offset Stafford). And yeah, the Flyers get royally screwed. |

He did. He recorded an assist in Game 5, managed 2 shots in Game 3, and finished a -3 with 8 PIM for the series. |

i recently watched game 1, the 50+ save captain kirk miraculous game that ended in OT on a gorgeous 2 on 1-timer blast from the slot after a great chance at the canuck end, and i was surprised when i heard antoski's name. forgot he was on that team for some reason, and i watched the canucks a ton that year, including every playoff game. i rooted for them to win as hard as any flyer team. yes, i'm still bitter. |

I always think what would have happened if the arbitrator awarded Lindros to the Rags. |

The Flyers, led by the great Peter Forsberg and Patrick Roy, capture the 1995, 1997, and 2000 Stanley Cup. |

Not sure what it would take, and it's a long ways away, but what would you guys think about the Flyers trading up to around #6 and trying to snag Haydn Fleury from Red Deer? He's out up some pretty good numbers on a pretty bad Red Deer team.
Or maybe move into the top-10 and got for Anthony DeAngelo from Sarnia (he's from Sewell, NJ). |

Being that the draft is in Philly, Snider will want to make some kind of splash. No way they just keep the pick and select in what will be in the 15-20 range |

I really don't think it's necessary to move into the top 10. I'd imagine it'd cost and a lot and I think they should just see how things play out- try to not deal away picks or kids. The future for this team is bright...no need to really alter anything drastically like this IMO |

So...Adam Oates called out Ovechkin for lack of hustle and backchecking.

The Leafs get the spotlight, and rightfully so, but this Caps team has really fallen hard too

I don't think its worth trading up that far. I just don't feel the difference of talent between the middle of the draft and the top of the draft is that huge. Its not like they'd be trading up for a Sean Monahan at that spot.
I feel this is a draft where the scouting is going to be very important. There will be good players and they may be found anywhere in the first round. |
