i don't think the location will have any impact on what they do. i really don't. - hammarby31
Of course it won't. Why would it? Hockey teams don't operate that way.

I think Ehlers is almost a guarantee to go in the top 10. He's electrifying though. - PhillySportsGuy
I'm imagining he could end up breaking into the top-5. He definitely seems to have special written all over him. |

Could you imagine him with Giroux? He already plays with Drouin, so I guess you can imagine it a little. |

and rightfully so. they have a designed play they use where they overload the right side and leave Ovechkin alone near the left dot. He barely has to move - just sit and wait for the pass and fire away. |

If the price wasn't exorbitant, I'd love a shot at Ehlers.
But yeah, I mostly agree with your stance that moving up in this particular draft wouldn't necessarily guarantee a better player -- like passing on a shot at Jeff Jillson to take Oleg Saprykin. - Tomahawk
You've been on the draft list pages again haven't you? |

So...Adam Oates called out Ovechkin for lack of hustle and backchecking.

But...goals... - jmatchett383
Wow that's bad. That team will never win squat as long as he plays like that.

off topic, but posted by crisomninja last night. Crosby get accidentally brushed by the linesman, goes down like he was in the grassy knoll: back and to the left.

How are you doing to prove this? Do you think Snider is going to come out and say "Well, the draft is in Philly, so we felt we needed to make a move."
He's just going to say the move was made to make the team better. |

Which? DeAngelo? He's got pretty good numbers, and I selfishly like the fact that I could probably walk to his parents' house if I wanted to. |

Almost as laughable and hilariously invalid as employing a goon year after year, when they went the way of the Edsel 20 years ago. - PLindbergh31
And imagine how many Stanley Cups the Flyers would've won if they hadn't signed Jody Shelley. And they won't win this year either with Rosehill on the roster.

Yeah, if they make a big move, a move that they would make regardless of where the draft is held...it MUST be because it is in Philly.

Never mind proving it. Just try and find some logic behind the premise.

If we got Dalcolle I'd be the fat dancing guy. It's not going to happen but I'm biased having seen him play more than any other draft eligible player. |

i'm shocked at both of these numbers, particularly the w/l record. i thought it was significantly worse. |

He's pretty much just numbers. He's small and we have Gostisbehere already. Plus he's got other issues. |

Th only logic I can think of is that hockey is a form of entertainment, as are all sports. Since the majority of people that will be attending the draft will be Flyers' fans, it would be very entertaining and dramatic for their favorite team to make a big splash in front of them.
Now, from a logical standpoint of creating a successful team, location would not matter. |

Well I'm unaware of his issues, but his numbers are impressive, despite his size. However, I'm not opposed to having a high-scoring defenseman in our system granted he's not a net negative. |

Everyone has been saying 93 points to make it in the east since after Christmas. No one is breaking any news with that number. pffft!!!! I could have regurgitated it on New Years and it wouldn't have made news. |
