Th only logic I can think of is that hockey is a form of entertainment, as are all sports. Since the majority of people that will be attending the draft will be Flyers' fans, it would be very entertaining and dramatic for their favorite team to make a big splash in front of them.
Now, from a logical standpoint of creating a successful team, location would not matter. - jmatchett383
The Flyers can find plenty of ways to entertain the fans without it impacting their decision making at the draft.

Do you think Homer has the stones to pull an Uncle Lou and trade their pick away on the draft floor? I think that is the likelier scenario. |

Well I'm unaware of his issues, but his numbers are impressive, despite his size. However, I'm not opposed to having a high-scoring defenseman in our system granted he's not a net negative. - jmatchett383
He was suspended once this season for the anti slur/bullying code of conduct and it got so out of hand that when it happened in practice his team jumped the league and suspended him themselves.
I'm guessing he's not so good in the room ya know. |

He absolutely could, but it would have nothing to do with being in Philadelphia. |

I know. But you asked for a logical reason. And, while there are other ways, one way would be to make the trade. I'm not saying they should just for the sake of it, but just giving you a reason, regardless of whether or not it's smart for the good of the team. |

Yea, and no offense, but I still don't see a logical reason. In my opinion the Draft being in Philly will have zero impact on what the Flyers do on Draft day.

Hmm I must be getting him confused with someone else.
What's the book on him? Kind of like a Tom Wilson (before this year)? Goes through people but has nice hands and a good offensive game? - Giroux_Is_God
Elite Prospects
Kempe is a strong, bullish forward that has size, strength and a work ethic to match. He can be tenacious on the forecheck and never misses finishing a check. He has a heavy shot and isn't shy to drive towards the net.
Our very own Adam French
Much like Teuvo Teräväinen in 2012, Kempe started the year in the third round being an overlooked player with one of the youngest birthdays in the draft (September 13). Similarly he has now forced his way up and up the list and sits often in the 10-20 range with an U18 tournament coming up that could potentially push him all the way to near the top-5…though that was what people expected for Teräväinen near draft day and he still went 18th. Kempe brings a great mix of size and strength and unlike many Swedes with size, he’s known to use it and play a more North American game. This isn’t to say he will become Lucic, but his board work and physical play is reminiscent of Franzen when he is in the zone and not being a lazy poope. His play for MODO in the Elitserien has been a major surprise, as the youngest player in the league he finished the year with a solid 11 points in 45 games. He still needs a lot of development, but depending on where he goes could be a real steal.
The most interesting prospect in the draft and the guy people argue over constantly as to who he is, why he’s fluctuated from the 2nd to top-10 potential every other month and where he will ultimately end up. I think as the year goes on he will climb, probably past 20, but right now this would be a really nice place to take the risk with him. Being born 3 days from the 2015 cut-off date, Kempe is a Swede with a serious attitude and plays a North American power forward game (6’2 187lbs) and loves to hit. For such a young guy he’s done extremely well and it’s interesting to wonder how good he’ll be when he’s bulked up and able to use his power moves more effectively against older and bigger players. He loves to shoot the puck and crash the net. I think the Canucks going forward could use a guy like him as they continue to plan the transition their group will need in the coming years.
Around late January Frenchie had Kempe going at 20 to the Canucks (Oh how they have fallen :lol |

Again, it's logical from an entertainment standpoint only. Logic dictates that the Flyers, as a form of entertainment, would do best to entertain their fans. While they have many options to choose from, a blockbuster trade in front of those fans would be one way to do it.
Again, from a standpoint of making the team better, the location has no bearing. From a "Hey, let's give these guys something exciting," it makes little, but some, sense.
Whatever, (frank) it, I'm not doing this today. |

I guess I'll state this as matter of fact as I can. I don't think it is logical from an entertainment standpoint. Not at all. I see it as illogical to let entertaining the fans factor into a draft strategy. |

Haven't heard exactly what it is even with asking around, I just know they felt it was so bad and weren't sure how to handle it they asked the league to guide them on it. |
