Timonen very likely to play. Panaccio reported it on CSN. Downie making progress, but I'm not sure yet. He has been skating.

Downie said Monday he was ready to play and it was up to Berube if he would be in the lineup. |

Any updates on Downie or Timonen? I been buried at work today. Thanks for indulging my laziness. - Jsaquella
They say Timmo will play Thursday and keeping him back was a precaution. Downie says he's cleared but Berube said later that he wasn't ready to think about re-inserting him yet. |

Hes had multiple concussions. Im not sure the decision is entirely up to Berube. |

For me if the medical staff clears him it will be pretty unsettling. |

Missed all the news today as well.
Anyone say more then UBI on what was wrong with Kimmo?
And for all you folks out there a quick question... would you be comfortable with last night's line up on defense going into next season?
Coburn/G-NN
Streit/AMac
LSchenn/Gusty
They played well I thought, but that doesn't make me real excited if those are the starters next season. |

I just wanted to say I love shootouts...
...wait...
nope that was a lie - FrmRusiaWifGlov
I was pranked yesterday, someone told me the NHL approved shoot outs for the playoffs.
I lost it and then remembered it was April 1st. |

Who would we play then? The Rangers? That's scary - Deasr1
Almost undoubtedly the rangers
http://www.sportsclubstat...politan/Philadelphia.html
the seed percentages at the bottom say that it'd be tricky for us to get down to a wildcard spot and play the Pens. The money is on us playing the Rangers. |

No, not really. I want Morin and Gostisbehere to break the line up and battle for RotY on our way to the Cup. |

It was good. If we cash in a Dman (whose name isn't Macdonald or Coburn) and a forward for an upgrade at D, I think our D can excel against some of the toughest competition. |

I think it was 'D. All of the above' for Kimmo.
No mention of a concussion though, so I think we can put that to rest. |

Ghost seems small and I'm not sure Morin is ready for the big show... but I don't watch them regularly and defer to those who do.
I see Amac as likely being re-signed.
I really wonder if both NG or LS will be back. |

I agree. We've learned a lot about concussions, but we still know very little about them. I just don't see how you can put a guy on the ice after he's had multiple concussions in the same season. |

per lonelyalien on /r/flyers, the Flyers need 6 more points to clinch the playoffs.
EDIT: and per sportsclubstats.com, the Flyers have a 99.3% chance of making the playoffs.
EDIT x2: sportsclubstats's playoff chances have the eastern conference playoffs lining up like this (in no particular order), unless something drastic happens:
Boston
Montreal
Tampa
Detroit
Pittsburgh
New York Rangers
Philadelphia
Columbus - JAKEw1234
Again, you certainly factor in the "Perfect Storm" scenarios, but really, it is so difficult for the Flyers to miss the playoffs completely, even now...it could happen, but there would have to so many things happening, it would be just...it would just be shocking.
I mean, for example: New Jersey plays Washington tomorrow. And while it could certainly be a three-point game, the bottom line is that, by definition, only one of those teams is getting two points. When, in reality and by virtue of ROWs, they both truly need to win in regulation AND not let the other team get points.
Now, if Toronto beats Boston tomorrow, then that gets a little trickier -- we don't want that, at all. But Toronto's ROWs are so low, and tomorrow's their 78th game, and we're five points up on them already...win or lose tomorrow against Columbus, the Flyers will still have two games in hand on them.
Obviously, Columbus is still a problem -- losing tomorrow in regulation would be doing the Flyers no favors -- and there's still work to do, but five of Columbus' next six opponents are the Flyers, Blackhawks, Phoenix, Dallas and Tampa Bay -- all teams still playing hard and jockeying for playoff position. If Columbus runs off five of six there, something like that...hey, I'd just tip my cap to them.
Again, the Flyers haven't clinched anything. But we're really close to the point where anything but ROWs by the competition is just a killer for them.

I think Morin may get the 9 game tryout and be back at Juniors. Im hoping Ghost signs an ELC and starts with the Phantoms next season.
I think Grossmann is the more likely one to be dealt based on age, injury history, salary and, more importantly, commitment made to Schenn. |

I think Gostisbehere has a real good shot of being on the team by November. I think the Flyers will like what they see in preseason in for the sake of no patience puts him in the starting six on opening night. He may or may not be gone by November. |

They aren't going to make a move to bring in a shootout specialist. It is what it is.
I think having Mason long-term will help the numbers a bit. He's not terrible in shootouts like Bryz. |
