Maybe, I just hope he's strong enough to withstand the pounding he's going to take at this level. Unlike college, there are lot of big guys that can skate really well at the NHL level and as a rookie they are going hit him often and hard. I think he'd be better off with one year in the AHL, where the game moves a bit slower. It will give him time to adapt to both the physicality of the pro game and the length of the season. - BiggE
I think he should start in the AHL as well. I'm sure he'll get a look in camp. Unless he blows them away, the AHL would be the ideal spot for him. |

We'll see. I think they move Grossmann if they want to go after another player. - PhillySportsGuy
Perhaps, I think a lot depends on whether Timonen returns. |

Krug played 63 games in the AHL in 12-13. I think Ghost could benefit from the same. |

Better than worst? Okay. He's not exactly lighting it up in the shoot outs. - mayorofangrytown
I just don't think they need to waste an asset or roster spot on a player who doesn't really fit but is good in shootouts.
They had Briere and he didn't seem to help them win many. He's always been good in shootouts. |

I'm really hoping the league does something to reduce the amount of shootouts next year. I think there's a good chance that OT gets extended, perhaps with the extension being 3 on 3.
Any type of team game is preferable, IMO, to deciding a game with a skills competition. |

Didn't they already shoot 3v3 down?
Think the most change we can expect is zamboni after the 3rd and switching sides for the long change.

C'mon Marc. If you can get a third and a conditional 2nd for Mez Grossburger is worth a second. - mayorofangrytown
some folks around some parts make him out to be a glorified 3rd pair guy at a grossly inflated salary
not me, I think he is a bonafide NHLer and is pretty valuable in his role
if all they can get back is a mid level pick then I would keep him, unless they need to move his salary for another defenseman coming in |

I would extend OT by 5 minutes.
If they want to keep the shootout, they should change the point system. No reason a team who wins in a shootout should get the same amount of points as a team who wins in regulation |

they did nix 3v3 at the last gm meeting and I think they are under some pressure to not lengthen the games, which suks
I would love to hear how the current players feel about the shootouts, not sure if they would give an honest answer but it would be interesting |

Also no way an OT/shootout game somehow creates an extra point out of thin air......
3 point for a reg win
2 points for an OT/shootout win
1 point for an OT/shootout loss
Simple. |

Paying some of Mez's salary to go roof daddy on Mason Sunday.
Meszaros in Boston. 9 GP, 2 goals, 3 assists. +6. His early success is a product of playing with Chara. He will be exploited defensively in the playoffs. |

Agreeed, I'm not wasting a roster spot on a shooter like jussi jokinen, I just don't see Mason making so much of a difference. |

He's better than the other guys we've had. Im not saying they'll become some great shootout team, but it would be nice to break even one of these years. |

I think Grossmann makes the most sense to move. But I think that Schenn could be part of a larger deal.

I like Niskanen. He'll be overpaid, but the Flyers always go after the best available FAs. |
