I think if Edler and Kesler are still Canucks next year ,it will drive away a lot of fans
- VANTEL

If they are traded for mediocre returns that's likely to do the same thing (or worse). If Gillis and/or Torts are still here, that might also get the fans riled up.

A lot of moving parts and those parts need to be fit to perfection, hence my comment on frustration being the more likely outcome.

It'll either be one of the most exciting or frustrating off seasons in recent memory. It could go either way and I don't see too much middle ground. At this point, with our current set-up at the management level, I thinks the odds are weighing more on frustration than excitement.

But you never know!

I agree. Vantel is right. This should be a very exciting offseason but I have a feeling it won't be.

I think Kesler goes for a good prospect and a first. I like the Chi or Ana offer.

Edler plus our 1st rounder for 1 or second overall pick.

Move Higgins and Hansen .

Both good points but the die hards still won't go anywhere though. Something has to give here pretty quick after the last 2 fiasco seasons.

Buffalo probably wouldn't make that deal but I think Edmonton would.

If it is a disappointing offseason , I think FA knows the Canucks will be playing to Coyote type crowds.

This needs to be a blockbuster summer. If Canucks try to sell the fans this roster again next year it will turn off tons of fans . The positive is we will win the McDavid sweeps . We have been the worst team in the league in 2014.

Seats were pretty bare in the NY game. Hyped game and only the start of the seating sales decline.

The true test will be the season ticket renewals. If that takes a hit I bet FA panics.

I'd target Florida, given they are both out of division and our "rich" trading history with them. They've got too many prospects in the pool and Edler would be well desired, more than likely pairing up with Campbell.

Plus, and this is important if we're trying to be somewhat realistic, the odds of Edler waiving to go to any of Buffalo, Edmonton, Calgary, etc would be quite low, but never underestimate the premium placed by a Swede on a sunny climate.

There is a waiting list for those. I am afraid that it will be a long time before that happens.

Last I heard they post-poned sending out the renewals. That was several weeks ago. Anyone know if they've gone out yet?

If you were on a waiting list and the seats became available , would you shell out thousands to pay for seats . I would take the comforts of home, HDTV ,free parking and cheap food and drinks.

Corporate owners that buy tickets for clients may be a hard sell if this is the product.

Love your scenarios but Edler wont wave to go to Buff, Islander, Edm or the leafs.

A good trading partner but Lou might nix this deal. I think he had enough of his own d scoring on him.

There is no quick fix for this mess. Could be a few more frustrating/disappointing seasons ahead. However, like you said "When in Rome...."

It was pretty dire then. Empty building most nights.
Messier single-handedly resurrected the franchise.
