I actually shed a man tear when I heard the let's go flyers chant when the hawks had the Cup.
Went to my room and threw my undershirt at my wall - Giroux_Is_God
Without taking off the jersey?!?!?!?!
That's amazing. |

I went upstairs, took off all my paraphernalia and got into bed and laid there for what seemed like a very long time. - wilsonecho91
I (almost) felt bad for the Chicago fans in attendance. A few of them kind of half-stood, didn't know whether to celebrate or not. Very awkward.
As a side note, the Flyers fans in the front 2 rows were very kind. They moved away from the glass so that the Chicago fans could be as close as possible. |

I vividly recall the feeling. My jaw literally hung open for what felt like an eternity.
I feel sad now. - BulliesPhan87
I was on my knees shooting mini sticks at my net in the basement....TV was right there so you can do both.
It went in and I was like "WHAT THE (frank) JUST HA-" and then I saw and stopped shooting and just kind of stared in disbelief |

My prediction is Philly vs Boston in conference finals.
Whoever is hotter wins. Which will be us after beating the rangers and pens.
Boston hopefully will be banged up from CLB and TB series. |

I was struck silent for almost an hour after that goal. That postseason was such a roller coaster of emotions. |

sure 87 was a miracle, but that was a talented team. they were inches away from another goal in the first period. they could have won that game. they were good enough to win in 10 also. 76, 85, and 97 i concede (and 76 were all 1 goal losses except for game 4 without bernie).
anyway, enough of that road. i've been down it more times than charlie sheen's been on crack. the next time they reach the finals, they are going to win. i just know they will. - hammarby31
The first 3 games were close, but there was no way they were beating that Montreal team 4 out of 7 without Parent and Macleish. That Habs team had 8 or 9 hall of famers in the lineup!! |

The image of Kane scoring that goal and jumping around is burned into my head, and probably pops up once every 2 days. - jmatchett383

I was at the game.
I knew the puck had gone in and I was so heavily invested, emotionally, at that point of the run, I had to simply walk out of the arena. I was in a section with a bunch of Hawks fans, too.
As my friend and I were angrily walking back to our car, I punched a metal sign about as hard as I could. I didn't feel it at the time because, I had had a beer or five at the time.
The next morning, I noticed my hand was broken. Not good times.

I remember the Leon Stickle game, but I was about 9 at the time. I really hated those Islander teams. |

My season tix are right along the goal line where that went in (15th row). We had no idea, and were just sitting there holding our breath. We stayed, we booed Bettman, we cheered for the Smythe and the Cup (I've never seen a Cup Presentation live before). We watched Toews get it and hand it off, then called it a night. Longest walk back to the Jetro lot of my life. |

I disagree. The issue with Bob is that it was the inherent drama in Philly goalies that lead to his demise. Making it even further dramatic, comical and inevitable. If the media and organization weren't so (frank)ed about goalies, we'd still have him. - wilsonecho91
agreed, and i'd be thrilled to have bob still, but i'm very happy with mason, which puzzles me because i hate full right goalies. |

You should have billed the Flyers for your medical bills. Citing team kicking fans to the nuts syndrome. |

Would you rather lose on a fluky goal in OT, or have them blow a 1-goal lead with under 2 minutes left and lose in regulation |

i was there too, for a boatload of $, and it was worth it, even to see them lose. i was heartbroken but numb at the same time. i also felt happy for the hawks fans because they've been waiting longer than us, and it was a special moment to see the cup handed out in front of me. i stayed for a very long time - after a few minutes of the families being on the ice i had to pack it in...couldn't take it anymore. what long night that was. train ride back was stone dead quiet. i went right upstairs into the bathroom and shaved a 3 month grizzly adams beard off my face. gddamnit. |

Losing in regulation would have been far worse. Totally agree. |
