Its not like Erik Christensen can't play hockey better than McGinn and Rinaldo... you wouldn't exactly be shorthanded.
If you want somebody more turnkey, trade for Brad Boyes. Likewise he wouldn't be eligible for the PO's since it's post-TDL, but he would be a net plus to the PO push all around. - Tomahawk
The trade deadline passed some time ago. Why isn't Christensen in the NHL now? |

Because Buffalo wanted to abstain from using a CBO on Leino?
And because he signed in the SEL? |

I think that article mentioned he's in Europe now?
I could have misread it. |

Because every game doesn't end in a shootout? Literally.

But every game that literally ends with a shootout literally has a shootout. |

I saw that, but why isn't he in the NHL. Could be a variety of reasons.
But my view is instead of worrying about the shootout, and making a roster change for the shootout. Concentrate on taking care of business in regulation and/or OT, and win a few games. Start tonight with Colmbus. |

Literally millions? I think that's a bit of an overstatement. Maybe a few hundred, if that. After all, all teams have 7 or less games to go, so 7 (games) *14 (teams alive in playoff) * 2 (max. teams per game) = 196 possible point scenarios. - jmatchett383
Not a math whiz, but the equation would have to involve permutations to include every possible outcome, for every game remaining, right? |

There's literally millions of scenarios where they could miss out by 1 point, though. - Tomahawk
Lay out the scenario where it happens and we'll all come up with a percentage on it |

If you look at it statistically, the chances of a guy like Christainson making a difference is pretty low.
If the Flyers had 5 less points, I may agree with you, but they are on solid ground right now. I would like the team to keep the same lineup they want to roll in the playoffs. |

Literally, figuratively, whatever. Just beat them, in regulation preferably.

I mean, if we're going to break it down to every atomic possibility, then it's WAY more than 196, or even millions of possible outcomes. In fact, I believe the number of possible outcomes approaches infinite. |

Yes, but to the point of the matter (no pun intended), the most points that any team could get in a game would be 2, so an OTL/SO would have no effect on the Flyers chances. But yes, we can chance the last 2 to a 3 to account for a shootout, bringing our total to 294 possible scenarios (assuming every game is between 2 playoff-possible teams from the Eastern Conference). |

Well yes, if we want to factor in every possible play of every infinitesimally small period time, then yes, the possible scenarios approach infinite. |

Maybe you're right. But sometimes, guys get pigeon holed in their careers and end up in a rut.
As I mentioned before, I'm pretty sure Jussi Jokinen was known as the "shootout guy" before he finally solidified a role in Pittsburgh. |

I literally wanted to have sex with both Tiffany Amber Thiessen and Melissa Joan Hart when I was a kid.
Now, that list has been reduced to Tiffany Amber Thiessen. |

Psh, I'm taking every reasonably possible atomic configuration into account here. The possibilities eclipse infinite, and can only be described as "humangous big" |

Jussi got that nickname because he perfected "the Forsberg" in the shootout. Christensen was the one who was Mr. Shootout. |
