It is actually a 100% certainty flyers make playoffs if they lose every remaining game in a shootout |

Well yes, if we want to factor in every possible play of every infinitesimally small period time, then yes, the possible scenarios approach infinite. - jmatchett383
Its also possible that Rinaldo channels his inner Gordie Howe and scores 9 goals and 20 points over the last 7 games, however it's about as probable as me being the first pick overall at this years NHL draft.
However, if I do go first, and it's to Edmonton, I'm pulling a Lindros and refusing to sign. I hate cold weather!! |

Maybe you're right. But sometimes, guys get pigeon holed in their careers and end up in a rut.
As I mentioned before, I'm pretty sure Jussi Jokinen was known as the "shootout guy" before he finally solidified a role in Pittsburgh. - johndewar
Think he's lost his touch in recent years... he had one backhand-forehand blocker-side move he was milking... think it dried up. |

If the Flyers wanted to bring in a couple of 'Shootout specialists' at the beginning of the season and give them a run in the lineup, I would have been alright with it. I just don't think bringing in a guy now, is going to help or hurt the team. It would just be strange and may bother the guys who have been here all year long. |

Yep. They'd have 94 points, which is one more than 1 more than Washington and 2 more than Toronto/NJ could have. |

I literally wanted to have sex with both Tiffany Amber Thiessen and Melissa Joan Hart when I was a kid.
Now, that list has been reduced to Tiffany Amber Thiessen. - jmatchett383

I think the Rinaldo scenario is more likely. It would require an outbreak of a crazy plague that he is immune to and possibly some bus crashes, however. |

It depends on whether or not you think we can, in the span of a timeout, have a player change into goalie pads, allow that player to wear an incorrect jersey, skate past the redline, and fire a knuckle puck.
Edit: Sorry, that was D2. |

Hard to really call any game a "must" game, unless you are on the brink of elimination. However it is a very big game and I think they will come out fired up. As I said earlier, Giroux did not have a good game against the Blues, so I expect him to have a big night tonight and lead the Flyers to a convincing win. |

Speaking of SO's...amazing the devils are 0-11 this season and still have a better historical record than the flyers. JfC. |

Are the Flyers the worst? I remember Florida was worse than them for a while. |
