It's not that I don't want us to get a high draft pick when the season is clearly lost, but cheering for us to lose has always made me feel a bit uneasy. Maybe that's just me. - AlexF
Not just you. I am realistic and know we have some more loses in us though doesn't mean I am on the #tanknation bandwagon. |

Sportsclubstats has the current odds at:
4th: 0%(no chance)
5th: 1%(aka no chance)
6th: 7%(need everything to go right basically)
7th: 12%(somewhat decent chance after these last 2-3 days)
8th: 17%(with the way this team is going I think top 8 is likely)
9th: 20%
10th: 20%
11th: 13% - Nucker101
Okay. Well then let's trade our 9th overall pick to New Jersey for Cory Schneider. That should be a step in the right direction. |

No to Dudley. I would rather take a run at Ron Hextall. He played with Moxy has a great track record in front office. Worked his way up from pro scout to AGM. He would be a better fit and has relationship with the 2 teams that we want to trade with. He maybe able to get us Brayden Schenn or Simmonds. - Linden_4_Capt
Dudley has an amazing track record at drafting and evaluating young talent. The draft is where u rebuild a team properly, trades are important but a distant importance to drafting. |

"Just" getting to pick and choose your desired destination makes all the difference when negotiating a trade. It's rumored Kesler supplied 6 teams he'd consider going to and 3 of them weren't interested in tabling an offer.
Gillis having to shoehorn a deal with 1 of 3 teams (or even 6) vs 1 of 29 teams is all the difference in the world when finding the best return for the team.
Unless Kesler broadens his list of destinations substantially it's more than likely we'll be getting a lesser return than Kesler's actual value. Same goes for Edler. - AlexF
It's different if a guy wants out, as Kesler is rumoured to. Ask Luongo! They don't have to trade Kesler and if he doesn't want to broaden his list of teams we'll just keep him. No need to take less value. |

Just like that. Replace the coach and we are back to what.... last season's Canuck and still in a much tougher division than the NW was?
We may see an offensive minded coach next season but he may be no more successful in this division. We also may see a more offensive minded coach next season and we still see this core fall down for two months. The team's trend had flop written all over it anyways.... - boonerbuck
I wasn't talking about the team, obviously, I was talking about two of the players on the team. |

Then hire him as player development. He does not have a good track record as GM. . I really like Dudley but not as the GM. Lets look at his draft history.
Ottawa 98-99
Takes Eric Chouinard 15th overall
Gagne was still on the board.
Tampa 99-02
99
Trades first overall and completely out of first round and selected
Sheldon Keefe
BTW Hank was top ranked that year.
00
Trades 5th overall pick and selects Nikita Alexeev at 8th Torres went at 5th and Hartnell at 6th.
Boyes, Hainsey, Kronwall, Ott was still on the board.
01
3rd overall picks Alexander Svitov
Koivu, Weiss, Leclaire, Ruutu, Hamhuis still on the board.
02
Gets fired
10
Atlanta Thrashers
Takes Burmistrov 8th overall
Grunland, Fowler, Bjugstad still on the board
11
Fired by Atl.
The point is every year he was the GM he either traded the first round pick or picked a Russian that did not pan out. And you want him to be our GM. |

He was expected to go high and there is always a couple Diagle's in every draft. I don't like any GM who goes all out for the Ruskies. |

Ron Hextall was the brains behind drafting Schenn and Simmonds in LA.
Put in charge of scouting and player development, Hextall oversaw drafts that had the Kings add nine players who would play key roles on the championship team (Jonathan Bernier, Trevor Lewis, Alec Martinez, Dwight King, Drew Doughty, Slava Voynov, Andrei Lokitonov, Kyle Clifford and Jordan Nolan). He learned from the best and player contract negotiations in Lombardi.
You guys still think Dudley is a better choice for GM then Hextall? |

He loves them Russians Putin style. We are already a Swedish team I don't think we can trade them to become Russia south. |

No, Dudley stinks. I'd rather have Burke back than that guy.
Bring in Hex, McNabb, Conte or someone else who has an eye for talent at the draft and at the pro level. The pro scouts who must all live in Florida for Vancouver should all be fired. |

5 games left. Anything more than 3 points will be a disappointment. 25th is there for the taking, then the possibilities of jumping to a top 3 pick. - Scooby_Doo

He hates everything about Toronto but he's still one of the biggest pillow-biters out there. I'd like to see him and Glenn Healey in a cage fight. |

Bro can be the ref. I think Pratt would get his ass kicked by Healey. I'd like to see Torts and PJ Stock drop them though. |

Four swedes doesn't make them Team Sweden. There are as many Americans, so in your theory, the Canucks are Team USA, as well.
You're sounding like that ignorant, homophobe, racist, Don Cherry. |

I would love to get a better look at Markstrom. I would prefer him play against Cal and Edm though. I feel the playoff bound teams will be resting players and taking it easy. I feel Cal and Edm will ply hard and I want to see how he handles the pressure. Also want to see Fox and Gaunce in the lineup as well as see what they can do. I want to see Corrado paired with Garrison to see if they can click before we look at trading away Edler. |

I have a feeling it will be a summer of work with he and Lack and Rolli. Unless they plan on moving Markstrom. I don't see them moving Lack at all kid is coming into his own right now. Veteran backup maybe for Markstrom but I don't see it. Our young goaltending right now reminiscent of other teams giving the young goalies a shot to come into there own and build confidence. I think we waited to long with CS. If Lu wasn't around CS would have made a impact earlier on this team. I think management knows that and that is part of the reason he was moved. |

Call me dumb, but I think Pierre McGuire would make a great Coach. Ferraro as assistant GM. Doug Maclean as GM. |
