I was hoping if we stank this year, Torts would at least provide some entertainment, but he didn't make the losing any more bearable.

BTW Last year while I was stopped at the light I saw Mclean crossing the road in front of me. I gotta admit the thought of running him over did occur to me. Thank god Mrs was in the car with me.

Ray as assistant GM? Might be okay to assist but no I do like him and his commentary though. Doug GM has spent to much time as part of the media now and would be a bad transition to GM so no. As for Pierre nice guy I am sure and very knowledgeable but he is to be taken in small doses only.

Ray as a pro or amateur scout would be a phenom. He wants to work in the Canuck front office. He's said as much. He's not GM material today but is he assistant GM with specific responsibility material? Absolutely. I'd love the Canucks to bring him on board. Just move GMMG to pres, move gilly or henning to GM, bring on Ray and fire Torts. Should be a pretty simple formula.

I was looking at a list and some numbers the other day. I like these guys when I look at age, and the likely term/dollars they'd want(not saying they're all players that we need, just guys I like as potential value depth signings).

Seems like the media is running with the story that Gillis yesterday was implying that JT was a FA hire and that it's either MG or JT moving forward.

Bolland wants $5 million+ per on a long-term deal. (frank) no!

During his last days in CHI he was on their 4th line. Plus the concussion history and as you said he's hated by many of the Canucks. No thanks, especially at that price tag!

I like the idea of adding guys that have been successful in their roles on winning teams, even if you have to pay a little more for them. I think Richardson has worked out pretty well when put in the right role. Guys like Engelland and Lewis I think are worth an extra $500k to lure them here.

I like those guys because they all average more than a hit per game, have good possession stats and bring a little toughness(all have at least one fight in the NHL, more than half have multiple fights). A lot of them are probably not great fits here if the team ants to open up spot for younger players though.
