Still an NHL UFA, AHL contract doesn't give he NHL team any rights unless they themselves sign him.

This team is in turmoil. That's on everyone. Gillis, Torts, the players and the owners. It's not one person's fault. The players are under performing. But even if they weren't, this team can not compete with Boston, St Louis, Chicago, LA, etc.
Something's gotta change at every level. They need better players, who are coached better.

THN is the biggest joke. Eklund is as credible as them. I loved their Oilers piece. Should have drafted based on need. Its why they suck now. When at the time he said draft the best player, not based on position, as thats how you end up at the bottom of the league.

he is our only top 6 player that I like his style and appreciate,the effort. I like his game. He has fallen off some ,but he is one of the few players on this team that gives his all on every shift. If he got rid of hair pulling and biting , and two mil off his contract he would be perfect

Truth be told I don't there will ever be a great free agent year again. It's the trend to lock up your best guys while still under existing contracts and for anyone who's left, well, be prepared to pay monopoly money.
