Absolutely. A private business can ask people to follow whatever policies they wish. But when all of the stories I've heard (just gave the most glaring example) go out of their way to make you look like an ass if you don't speak their language, then they're just being douchebags. I've yet to hear of more than 1 French person (who was cute as hell, by the way) who does not have this mentality.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again. The world of hate smells like poop, because I just pooped, so I stepped out for a breather.

I've yet to go to any non-English speaking country. However, if I do, I plan of spending some time attempting to learn common phrases and how to kindly ask for directions.
