I would not put Lecavalier back at LW. It's pretty clear he can't play at that position. Schenn should be moved to Wing, and put Lecavalier at Center on that line. Barring that. Lecavalier should remian where he is, at least he's at the right position. - MJL
Yup. I leave both Schenn and VL at C. Our "4th" line has been generating some of our better scoring chances the last couple games. |

I agree here. bSchenn has played like poop lately, being given a chance at center and good minutes.
Kid needs to move over and hopefully LeCavalier can get it going. Secondary scoring, 5 on 5 is as dry as an 80 year old's vagina. |

Exactly, none of the 3 are particularly good playmakers. I'd even be willing to try flipping Voracek and Simmonds. Earlier this year, Hartnell and Simmonds worked pretty well together while being centered by Schenn, so I'm pretty sure they could succeed while being centered by Giroux. And, putting Jake on the right side with Vinnie and Schenn gives the line more speed and creativity which wouldn't be a bad thing. - BiggE
Earlier in the year, I wanted to see Hartnell-G-Vinny. The only time they used Vinny on the top line was at LW. If they used him at RW, it may have looked better.
That would allow Jake to move down and play with Schenn. Schenn desperately needs a puck possession player with him. |

If constantly pointing out every mistake the Flyers have ever made makes you a better fan than me than so be it. You win. You are the best Flyers fan. No trade the Flyers have ever made was good. They should just fold the team and move on.
Everyone stop watching the Flyers! There former goalie got a shut out against them.
I hate what some Philadelphia fans have become. All pessimism. Have fun enjoying nothing....ever. - mickel25
Pointing out mistakes has nothing to do with being a better fan than anyone. The entire building were raining down boos on the team last night. Are they all bad fans? |

If one player plays out of position (not sure why center is his "right" position but that doesn't hold true for B Schenn), but the line and team benefit, then damned be that player. Vinny moved off of that line, and the line went from pretty dominating to passengers. Again, not saying A is directly related to B, but it's a possibility. |

why? - -davies-
maybe a rephrase like "when will stolarz pitch a 37 save SO in a huge road game at columbus in the midst of a playoff push?" would solidify the nature of the question. i know i had big fun watching bob shut us out last night |

I just think he belongs in the AHL. We need an NHL player right now. - BulliesPhan87
Well, the only other "NHL" players on the roster are Gustafsson and Hal Gill, so there aren't many other options. |

I don't think anybody loves how that trade turned out short-term with Bob going on to do really well (man, did he look good last night), and with the impetus behind the deal (whether you blame Homer or Lavi or Snider or some combination thereof for Bryz).
With that said, it's hard to argue that Homer didn't do really well from an asset-management point of view in the trade... he took a guy they signed off the street and parlayed him into three pretty decent picks.
Not sure if Stolarz or Leier have NHL futures, but the potential is still there for this trade to turn out well for them in the long-run. - Tomahawk
That's certainly a fair assessment. Just because the first two years of the trade aren't good doesn't mean it's a failure. If Stolarz and Leier contribute at the NHL level in the future it could be a trade that works out for both teams. |

I don't think McGinn is the problem, per se, but I think there is a definite chemistry problem with that line right now. - johndewar
He is not the only problem, but McGinn is certainly a problem on that line. He's just not a 2nd line NHL Winger. And he doesn't belong there at this point, in my opinion. |

I'm cool with that, but I would like to see them try the following:
Hartnell-G-Simmonds
Raffl-Schenn or Vinnie-Voracek
Read-Couturier-Downie
Hall-Vinnie or Schenn-Rinaldo
I think you flip Vinnie and Schenn depending on who is playing better at the moment, and while some will say that the top line is going to be weak defensively, I don't think its really an issue. After all, Jake isn't exactly Pavel Datsyuk when it comes to defensive play. |

Where to start! When Holmgren traded Bobrovsky, was he a Vezina winning goaltender? And did anyone think he would be in the very next Season? Let's start there. - MJL
does that speak to Holmgrens mis- judgement or Bobrovsky's play ? Its not like it took him 5 years to go somewhere else and win the vezina....it was the next year....he played very good in Philly, but the Flyers as an organization chose to go a different way..... Perhaps it's one were he wish's he had a mulligan...not for moving him but the timing lent to the fact that the return wasn't strong....timing was everything on the deal.
The same could be said for the JVR-Schenn deal. Some guys just take off with a new team....hard to say if Bob ever would have had that success in Philly...truthfully we will never know. |
