Another game where the goalie bails out his team time and time again only to have the team in front of him NOT RESPOND. Emery deserved a better fate today as does Mason when he is in net. This team just does not play for their goalie. |

Buy out Vinny, use the savings to sign 1-2 top-9 LWs who can score goals at ES... seems a lot less risky than pulling the plug on B Schenn to me. - Tomahawk
Why not do both? Schenn is an average at best player. If Luke didn't get thrown out of town they'd be the perfect maple leads.

Have been away all day, and didn't get to watch the game. But I see the exact tone of the board is exactly what I thought it would be. Flyers lost a game, and are in a little bit of slump. So the GM needs to go, players need to be bought out, the cap has been mismanaged, and on and on and on. Are they too slow again? |

Nah they're lightning fast out there. Fastest team in the league. |

2nd game in a row they were outplayed and out hustled by a team that wanted to win the game. |

I think slumping in the playoffs would be worse. This is just temporary. They will make the playoffs, and we'll see what happens.

Yes, they've had two bad 3rd periods in a row. Time to regroup and get it going.

don't like the negativity here? turn on the post game show and listen to how all the players are happy about the effort and "staying with" the top teams......i really wish the team hated to lose as much as the fans hate it |

Well I don't think anyone on that team can be happy with the recent 3rd periods. They'll bounce back. |

What is their magic number? 4 after the Washington loss last night? So if Caps lose to Islanders tonight then it's down to 2 correct? |

Point taken indeed.
Hopefully they round into form here...they only have a handful of gsmes left |

I don't love that because I'm not entirely certain that Vinny can't help, but at the same time, if we truly are married to Schenn on Line 2, then yeah, get him another winger -- preferably one with speed and playmaking ability, and do what you have to do to make that happen
At some point, you do have to stop coddling young players. But at the same time, it is fair to say that getting Schenn a LW who can do,something at ES is a necessity, beause we can't go into next season wondering what in the hell that line is going to do |

I would try the following tomorrow:
Hartnell-G-Simmonds
Raffl-VL-Voracek
Read-Couturier-Downie or Rinaldo
Hall-Schenn-Rinaldo or Rosehill
Timonen-Coburn
AMac-Streit
Gus-Schenn
Thoughts?

You got your wish with Vinny back in the middle....lost the draw clean on the winning goal with six minutes left....I mean clean.....yup I had the same question....why is he taking a d zone face off with the game on the line anyways ?...he's played LW pretty much since Xmas..... |

Honestly, I just think the lines could use a little shaking up and I would sit a noticeably hurting Grossmann for Gus. |

Giroux needs a real top line lw too. Move Hartnell down with Schenn and Simmonds. |

Sorry but being a Flyers fan for 25 years and making the playoffs the majority of that time with not winning a cup, just making the playoffs is no longer good enough. |

Emery, Rinaldo, and Rosehill were the three best players today for the Flyers.
How many games are they going to win when that happens? |

They have to do something to get Schenn and Simmonds going at even strength. Buffalo...look.
What you can't do is trick yourself into giving Rinaldo more minutes. 8-10 on the fourth line is great, and he has earned those minutes honestly.
If Downie can go, get him back in. If he can, you give Schenn one last chance to get himself and that second line going, giving him Raffl as the LW.
Vinny can center the fourth line one more time...but for me, tomorrow would be it. Either Schenn does something worthy of a Top 6 forward, or I gotta move him down for a few games...because right now, it isn't working for him
