Best D is a puck possession O

Oh I get it, but I don't think adding the Sedins will get us out of the basement. Look at your D (10000000X better than ours) and you might miss the playoffs this year.

You haven't said what you would like to see next year.

If we had Hall Eberle RNH on the first and Yak playing with the Sedins I would say we make the playoffs.

Um yeah.....but that doesn' t translate as smoothly as you are trying to articulate. Perhaps if you threw in Birska, Hamhuis and Edler then yes, we would make the playoffs if we had the Sedins.

I don't really know much about Tanev, TBH. I hear he has been pretty good. Not a fan of Edler really either, but he was very good a couple years ago. You tell me, who would help the Oilers Blue line more?
- Jeropotato

Hamhuis or Bieksa, without question. Edler is moody - great for a couple games, a ghost for the next. Tanev is a steady-eddy type D, positionally sound, defense first. Edler has the higher ceiling without question but I don't believe he'll ever reach that ceiling IMO.

LA has been one of our bogey teams (like ANA) for a while now. Would be good to get a win and some belief back into this team that they can hang with these types of teams.

I expressed that in my argument and explained the criteria. The interesting thing (to me) is; How much more functional strength & speed can realistically be added to today's athlete? Will the gap between the 80's NHLer & today's NHLer be equivalent to the gap between today's NHLer & 2040's NHLer? I highly doubt it. I think we're reaching peak performance in this era.

technology has come a long way, in computers. But to think we are maxed out in human potential with today's standards is pretty way off. I mean way off. We are just starting to see real progress take place. There will be many more advancements. ..

Absolutely. What we learned about food and nutrition in the past 5 years is amazing. I'm old enough to remember when the big health debate was butter or margarine. The time will come when healthy and safe steroids are common, and training techniques are always improving.

2/3 is pretty damn good considering the teams we're counting on.

oh absolutely. Nutrition will be a huge factor,Dna designation for nutrition, proper training as well we are just starting to push this real hard. But even medicine..not sterioids but acl mcl ect. Back in the 80's it was a full cast hip to toe. Now it is a walking brace. Allo graft ligament replacement...bead implants..The list goes one.

Canucks will dominate tonight and breakout offensively. Kings suck, they probably can't even spell defense.

Canucks can be eliminated tonight. If they are I hope they give Comets and Markstrom a look and keep our draft pick in place.

I said FUCTIONAL strength & speed. Even if the human body can go several steps further, what kind of cognitive development/evolution is needed for the brain to keep up.

(frank), Kings are resting some regulars.
Hopefully that lulls the boys into a false sense of security and they get blown out.
