Yeah, I was assuming they would.
Not sure how great it would be, a 2nd and a solid prospect would be nice. - Mr_Clean
It's Jason Spezza. You could a massive return I think. I would target Nashville. |

I like your optimism!
I was thinking Nashville too, then remember they are one of the only teams equally as chintzy as Ottawa... Might make it difficult to work out from a salary perspective. |

No 1 Centers don't grow on trees. Speeza is still a premier skilled Center. I can think of at least a dozen teams that need one. |

I agree. Though I would assume you need a Ying to Karrlsons Yang, not another Yang, if that makes any sense. |

Agree with both of you. Some teams are lucky enough to have 2 #2 defensemen |

Wouldn't a more crushingly reliable stay at homer better suit you guys? Like a Dan Girardi type? |

Yeah, I wouldn't mind it, but to be honest I would prefer a good 2-way guy... Solid offence, solid defence, not spectacular at anything but no glaring deficiencies either... |

Might be worth the gamble, problem (again) could be budget for Ottawa, because if Cowen (paid #4 dman money) and Bogosian (paid as a #3 defenceman) don't pan out, we're royally (frank)ed for quite a while. |

Ottawa would have no difficulty moving Cowen and Bogosion would draw a large level of interest from many teams if he were available.
Developing a good defensive D man is a long term process. When scouts see a D man make a solid defensive play they know the goal is getting them to make that play routinely each time they face the same set of circumstances.
It amazes me how people are so quick to write off the development of a strong defensive prospect. Myers is going to be a good Dman for along time. But people were to deal hin for a bag of pucks a year ago. |

you also said karlsson was holding cowen back............ - sensarmy_11
that wasn't about Cowen being good, it was about Karlsson getting a free pass even though his defensive play was equally terrible to Cowen's
everybody here jumping all over Cowen and sucking karlsson d|ck
just wanted more people to hold Karlsson equally accountable.. he has played maybe 15 good defensive games all season... maybe
pre-olympics, that number was zero |

Karlsson, however, can do good things as well, which makes him very different from Cowen this season. |
