3 offensive zone penalties in 2 periods for Rinaldo.

I seriously hope there is a different plan in the playoffs. Rinaldo in the top 9 and Rosehill playing playoff games isn't a good idea.

All that said, these 2 points were a must. Good to see the Flyers dominating a 51 point team with 10 regulars out of their lineup.

I believe guys like Raffl, B. Schenn and Coots can continue to grow and get better. B. Schenn and Coots in particular just because they started at a young age and have played a few years, doesn't mean they are still feeling their way on the ice. If either guy is traded in the offseason, I believe they would be selling low.

I'm sorry, guys like Weber, Subban and OEL are just not going to be available. Any d-men below them, including B. Schenn and Coots in a package is selling low.

I agree. I'm talking about over that. Which if you actually read what I wrote instead of starting yet another (frank)ing argument, you would have understood.

Yes, Ron Hainsey, Anton Stralman and Nikita Nitikn are all similar to Andrew MacDonald and will likely cost less to sign. All four are solid number four defensemen. Not comparing salaries alone, bit thanks for playing, Socrates

It's a debate. Having a dissenting opinion , which is not against the Code of Conduct, is not starting an argument. I think MacDonald is better then those 3 players. Watching MacDonald in this game is indicative of the player that he is. He just doesn't make many mistakes. He's very good with the puck and in coverage. I think 4.5M is a fair number, but I'd be willing to even go around 5 a year. He's that solid of a player, and he has made a clear difference in the Flyers defense corps.

Could we use Mason as a shooter in the shootout?

Buffalo gave them a chance to get going after a bit of a slow start.

Not much talent on that Sabres team, but I like Nolan behind the bench. Think that's a good move going forward.

Well isn't that super. Nobody mentioned the CoC. But as usual, you're here to argue every point. Must be a blast at cocktail parties

They work hard but can't finish. We need to win the lottery or this season will have been a waste. The 2013-2014 Sabres are one of the worst teams ever.

Just wait if they end up winning. We get to hear how their flaws as a team as completely cured, and Holmgren the saviour dancing on our heads from the heavens.

I think Downie returns to his role in the top 9 before the regular season ends. I think they are being extra cautious with him having multiple "upper body injuries" this season. Also, it is a contract year for Downie, so I would assume he is eager to get back on the ice.

Man, I do not care if they were playing the Little Sisters of the Poor tonight

Making the playoffs...it's important. And not playing Boston in the first round, should they make it, is No. 2 on the list of things to do

Haven't seen him enough. I like the composition of the D since MacDonald was signed. At least for this year. it's about fair value and a bird in hand. Homer needs to set the price on what he thinks these players are worth. Then hold his ground.
- jstross

I guess the point I was trying to make was that I think most sane people would hesitate to fork over $4-5M to a guy like Butler, but so many people have somehow reached the conclusion that AMac is worth that much.

Problem is, Butler and AMac are virtually identical players in terms of ability and stats. Butlers actually bigger, just as good a skater, blocks shots at the same rate, and actually scores at a higher points per minute pace.

I'm not going 5 for amac. I really think if he wants to be here he'd take 5 yrs at 4.25. That's very fair. If not see you later Mac daddy

I still say when they let Briere and Drury go years ago that was a stupid move. Its been downhill since.

You know who I miss watching? Afininogenov. What he was on his game, really fun to watch.

Can only play the teams on your schedule. After the last month the Flyers have had, they should get to play the Sabres every other day to close the season.

I believe B. Schenn has gotten a lot better in the defensive zone this year. I think he is playing positionally a lot better under Berube then he ever did under Lavy. I didn't like at all how they used him last year, boucing between wing or center to help cover up Briere who was obviously cooked.

In the end, I believe he can continually be a 25 goal scorer in this league.

For me, I think its written in stone either way.

If I remember right it was a 2nd and 3rd rounder for Macdonald.

Holmgren wont be getting laughed at even more, he will pay him.

I was at game 5 vs the rangers in 2007. He won the game I in ot after being a healthy scratch in game 4. One of the fastest players I have ever seen. That offseason, they should have let vanek go to EDM and take the 4 1sts.
