They work hard but can't finish. We need to win the lottery or this season will have been a waste. The 2013-2014 Sabres are one of the worst teams ever.

You guys need a vet like vinny L in that room to teach those kids We'd take a 2nd and a 3rd

I was at game 5 vs the rangers in 2007. He won the game I in ot after being a healthy scratch in game 4. One of the fastest players I have ever seen. That offseason, they should have let vanek go to EDM and take the 4 1sts.

I have memories of the Sabres skating circles around Hatcher/Rathje.

No thanks, would rather keep the second. That contract is a killer. We would do a third for Vinny. What would it take to get Couts?

I believe B. Schenn has gotten a lot better in the defensive zone this year. I think he is playing positionally a lot better under Berube then he ever did under Lavy. I didn't like at all how they used him last year, boucing between wing or center to help cover up Briere who was obviously cooked.

In the end, I believe he can continually be a 25 goal scorer in this league.

This

B Schenn has taken a step or 2 this year. It's great to see

I'd ship him to you for a 5th, and rather use the money to sign Vrbata.

Couturier is probably untouchable.

It`s buffalo, but I`ll take it..
- Hextall271

It's a nice feel good moment, I go to one flyers game a year and chose yesterday's game unfortunately, so I needed a game like this to boost my morale. Although I think I witnessed the best moment of jay rosehills career so it was worth it.

I'm not going 5 for amac. I really think if he wants to be here he'd take 5 yrs at 4.25. That's very fair. If not see you later Mac daddy

The danger of overpaying based on need...you can't do it in a capped league

I look at David Clarkson right now, or Ryane Clowe...hell, some would argue Vinny, too

I think MacDonald's a decent piece, but I won't even lie: If he wants to chase the dream, he's entitled to do that. More power to him.

But at some point, there's a number you can't go past. I don't pay him more than $4.5 per year. That's just me and how I see it -- he's not as good as Braydon Coburn, and yeah, Coburn's under contract now and MacDonald's UFA, but I simply wouldn't pay him more than Coburn

I just wouldn't do it, even if he walks

Yeah...I'm just not into it enough anymore to spend that much..

Though living a few blocks from the ECW arena I might go to the Extreme Rising event coming up.

The first/ 2nd pick, heck no. Is the Isles pick fair value? Love his game, reminds me of Bergeron Lite.

And the Flyers will be right back in the same boat as before. And if Timonen retires, then the Flyers have 2 big holes to fill on the back end.

I guess the point I was trying to make was that I think most sane people would hesitate to fork over $4-5M to a guy like Butler, but so many people have somehow reached the conclusion that AMac is worth that much.

Problem is, Butler and AMac are virtually identical players in terms of ability and stats. Butlers actually bigger, just as good a skater, blocks shots at the same rate, and actually scores at a higher points per minute pace.

- Tomahawk

Tough to read the market this early, but if he wants $5 AAV then let him test the market. If it's 4.5 or under then work together and see what is agreeable.

Well isn't that super. Nobody mentioned the CoC. But as usual, you're here to argue every point. Must be a blast at cocktail parties

I hope we sign cally or moulson this summer so we are somewhat watchable next year. This season has been brutal.

I think A-Mac has been pretty good. I thought he brought more offense. He seems to miss the net a ton.

I would offer him 4 years 4.25 per. If he's not happy with that, adios.

They'll need 2 Dmen, but not the same position because Timo's $$ is off the books. I still think he might come back. No Olympics. Less PT. Work in some games off...

Yeah, I haven't watched much recently. I know Hogan and some other surprises were in store tonight, but I'm not up to date on the storylines to spend the money.

I didn't even know ECW was still in existence.

I personally think the Flyers will probably give him 5 for four years to keep him..Mostly for the reasons you mention.

It would have to be yours. Isles pick isn't enough. Coots was a #7 overrall and had proven certain things. There are Other things left to be desired. But he had largely outperformed the picks ahead of him so far
