ON D...

I think it's pretty safe to assume that Holmgren may try to make a splash with the draft being in Philly.

My guess is it will be some combo of B. Schenn, L. Schenn/Grossmann, Prospects and Couturier.

I only move Couturier if it you are getting a legit number 1 dman that is under the age of the 30 so that is Weber, Pieterangelo, Doughty or if you are getting a projected number 1 dman that isn't that far off , OEL, Subban, Hedman or the like.

I see L. Schenn and Grossman as being close to the same though I think Schenn brings more so i would much rather keep him, say goodbye to NG and get some mobility in that spot. If that is Gus then great, if not then in some other way.

I say if the Flyers fall woefully short of getting out of the first round, that Homer should pull a Sixer and blow the entire team up. Round up as many first and seconders as he can, and start fresh.

Homer can play the part of Billy Ray Valentine and Hextall as Louis Winthorpe III. That'll cause quite a stir on the floor,

Maybe we need to get rid of the guy making the decisions. He already has blown the team up once and we are no closer to winning the cup for it. Why should he be given the chance to do it again?

Is their anyone that would really still take Carter and Richards over Couturier, Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, others? Honestly, if you regret those trades still please share whatever you are smoking (even though i don't smoke so someone else could enjoy!)

I am okay with replacing Holmgren as long as it is not for an ex-Flyer.

Im hoping for Shea Weber for Rosehiltitov, PLindbergh31 (when he is negative, ha), Coatsey and a pick..

Seems fair.

I will enjoy.

Homer is not done after this year regardless if they win a round or not.

That's not really an option at this point, and I doubt it happens. If it does, I'd have to assume that something awful occurs on the ice over the next week, and I'd blame the players for that.

I don't like everything he has done, my biggest issue was actually the Bob/Bryz ordeal, but I think Homer is a better GM for this city than most of the GM's in the league now. Fairly young team, still growing into itself, young promising pieces on the way with Laughton/Ghost and then you have Morin/Hagg still developing. Its a competitive team, but its also a fairly young one; the goalie to the defenseman coming up in the system to the group of forwards we currently have.

Worst case, they miss the playoffs this year, and start absolutely brutal next season through Christmas; then you fire Homer. Maybe. People were calling for his head at the 10 game mark this season... Don't get it. Obviously Berube didn't agree the team Homer tooled wasn't talented enough. He completely rebuilt the team. Still growing. And we're lucky enough to have a competitive and growing team. Sheesh.

Are you even paying attention to the conversation? Someone suggested Homer blow up what the team he created and I said he did that once and we are no closer to winning than what we were. If it were to be blown up and I don't think it should, someone else should make those decisions. I never once said anything about having a do over with the players we got.

Yes I am and in your saying they are no closer to winning a cup it's certainly easy to read that as trading Richards and Carter didn't help us get close to the end goal.

Personally i think we are close to that goal with the 5 players we essentially got vs then if we would have kept them.

My fault for not being clearer in my response.

I am good with those trades personally. The one I didn't like is the Bob trade but I find that our goaltending is strong now with Mase and Emery (of note, I would consider re signing Ray as the backup..he normally keeps us in the games).

As for Homer, I can't see him being replaced if we make the playoffs.

Ha! You probably weren't around that day when...an extended conversation...was the result of an innocent enough comment about the Flyers making a splash on draft day, because it's in Philly

In other words: Some disagreed

Very disappointed with the recent play of Streit and Grossman. I really don't like the pairing.

I wish Gus would come in and help with the breakouts in our zone. The book is out and teams (NYR-CBJ-NJD-Bos) take advantage with dump ins, a hard forecheck and battling in corners for puck possession and cycling the puck in our zone for extended periods of time.

On another note, changing lines a bit even for a period or two to jump start the offense again: Raffl - G - Voracek
Hartnell - Schenn - Simmonds
Read - Couts - Lecavalier

We need this one vs buffalo tonight.

Nothing cures a losing streak like a game vs a bottom feeder. Flyers should come out pissed
- Jsaquella

i think they win this game tonight. they know the crowd will be ready to pounce at the first sign of trouble. not that they need motivation from the crowd...they should have plenty of on own.
