Very disappointed with the recent play of Streit and Grossman. I really don't like the pairing.
I wish Gus would come in and help with the breakouts in our zone. The book is out and teams (NYR-CBJ-NJD-Bos) take advantage with dump ins, a hard forecheck and battling in corners for puck possession and cycling the puck in our zone for extended periods of time.
On another note, changing lines a bit even for a period or two to jump start the offense again: Raffl - G - Voracek
Hartnell - Schenn - Simmonds
Read - Couts - Lecavalier
We need this one vs buffalo tonight.
Let's go flyers - Chris48
I'd go 22/44, 8/5, 32/47
But I'd also have Gus in too

Seriously I know how Aekson feels. Scores 10 goals a game in AHL. Takes 2 years to get called up in NHL 14 |

Because McGinn is bigger and stronger.
Apparently it's OK to be a one dimensional player, if that dimension includes being big and physical. |

That was pretty unbearable yesterday, absolutely cannot stand that tandem. I get it the homer announcing but that's a bit overboard. |

As a big guy, you have to prove that you dont belong in the nhl. As a smaller guy, you have to prove that you do belong. (wisdom provided by Jeff Marek) |

Akeson with a hat trick - ob18
Nice.
He should definitely be brought up for this run toward the playoffs. It makes no sense to give him a shot. |

And all I was saying is that there are suppose to be 2 d-man on the ice and when Grossman is out there, he is the only one. Streit is nothing but a forward on the back end. I understand that Grossman isn't that good but he is hung out to dry by his counterpart and because Streit brings somewhat of an offensive element, he is given a pass. - Daveflyers36
Streit is not a good defensive player, but he's also not the defensive black hole you paint him to be.
As Darryl Sutter notes, the Kings don't consider themselves a defense first team, they're a possession first team. If you have the puck, the need to play "defense" isn't as great. |

Might be especially true in this organization.
I'm not sure if Akeson would make a good NHLer. Loads of guys put up great numbers in the AHL and couldn't come close to matching it in the NHL. But he's had one NHL game. McGinn has had several, and with McGinn he's either noticeable in terms of scoring goals, or completely invisible.
With his size, he should at least be noticeable, working the boards and being a net front presence. |

I like McGinn, but I just couldn't help rolling my eyes when they briefly put him on that 2nd line. You're telling me you couldn't have used Akeson's skills there? to help out a struggling Schenn and Simmonds?

McGinn also has a worse +/- for the Phantoms. But I guess that's not as much of a concern because he has about 30 fewer points than Akeson? |

Nonsense.
It would look foolish to do that and have the golden boy signing of the summer be demoted again. |

In which he scored a goal btw
Honestly this team shouldn't be so against having an undersized skill guy with questionable d on their team. After all Briere was here for a long time. |

Guess the thought process was that he'd help create traffic in front and help the cycling game. |

Anyways, just hope the guy gets a chance somewhere.
Speaking of guys getting a chance somewhere (although maroon had problems with whoever the idiot coach of the phantoms was back then and so did others btw), Patrick Maroon has 12 points in his last 13 games for the Ducks |
