Nice match, my guys just Canucked down the stretch. *gracious hand shake in defeat* I'm still gunning for 3rd Chesty, be prepared!
- 1970vintage

Great match-up - I noted that almost every statistical category was pretty much a toss up and it all came right down to the wire! Good luck against Chesty

"I don't really understand why this bunch hasn't given up on their season or what outcome they really hope to achieve"

That sentence in this latest blog just makes me sad. If you don't understand why they haven't given up you clearly don't understand the professional pride a pro athlete has. Would you ever want a player on your team to give up because the team is in a rough patch? How could you ever trust that player not to quit when a game got rough or the team was down games in a play off round?

The last few articles here have really turned me off from wanting to read the next one. Putting moral victory in sarcastic quotes but embracing Tank Nation as a concept? Yikes. The Canucks are losing, they won't make it to the playoffs and it sucks but to embrace losing is embarrassing. Ask the Olier fans how fail for Nail or fall for Hall is treating them. To top it off its a weak draft and falling from 8th to 6th wouldn't even amount to much anyway.

Are you a big Tesla fan?

Matthias has been solid.. one of the better 3LCs we have had

- TimThomasLunge

Yup.

As for Matthias being one of the better 3LCs we've had... That's a depressing thought. Ideally he's a 4LC IMO.

Who is NOT a big Tesla fan? I bet you he would be a wicked play-maker/set-up guy

Not sure about playmaking skills, but he'd definitely bring energy!

Leon Draisaitl - the more I read about this kid the more I like him!!

The Deutschland Dangler

Rather trade the pick, but I'd guess Mact gets lowballed and is forced to keep it.

This just posted by a friend of mine, life long Leaf's fan.

"Seriously...how difficult it is to be a fan of the Leafs? MLSE is just a Bay Street corporation worth a couple billion, not much different than one of the banks that pose as a friend to the common person while they charge the highest ticket prices in the league, $30 for 2 beers and $15 for nachos. There is no salary cap on scouting budgets, which means they should be the best drafting organization in the league because they have the resources...it's blatantly obvious that winning the Stanley Cup is not their primary concern..."

I feel his pain

Please God help us if that ever becomes the case here. I don't believe fans will follow the Canucks with "blind faith" like the Leaf fans do.

Ticket sales for Canuck home games would plummet way before that ever happened here. Fans vote with their feet here. That said, TO has several times the population of Vancouver. Had we comparable populations, who knows what the story would be.

The city of Toronto desperately needs a 2nd team. The economics of supply and demand alone couldn't stress this enough. Every major city in Europe has several top flight soccer teams. Then again none of those cities has ever been stupid enough to grant zoning exclusivity for the entire city limits (like the GTA) to one organization.

I don't think that lineup is week down the middle, other then maybe 2nd line. 3rd has 2 Centers in Santo and Mathias
4th has Richardson and Gaunce
The second line although weak in the middle has 2 strong wingers.

This is how I see it. Draisaiti is a slight reach for edm at #3 but aside from ekblad he would fill the biggest need
As I posted Saturday

Tanev and 7th overall for 3rd overall and 2nd rounder this yr. Canucks select MDC and oilers have a good chance or LD falling to 7 as most mocks have him 5-6
