What is that that you don't like about my scenarios?

I don't think that lineup is week down the middle, other then maybe 2nd line. 3rd has 2 Centers in Santo and Mathias
4th has Richardson and Gaunce
The second line although weak in the middle has 2 strong wingers.

Oh, well then, we should just put three centres on each line and we'll win the cup next year

This is how I see it. Draisaiti is a slight reach for edm at #3 but aside from ekblad he would fill the biggest need
As I posted Saturday

Tanev and 7th overall for 3rd overall and 2nd rounder this yr. Canucks select MDC and oilers have a good chance or LD falling to 7 as most mocks have him 5-6

Forgot where I read this but apparently the Canucks scouting staff see the early part of this draft having 2 distinct categories:

Cat 1: 2 players
Cat 2: 6 players

Assuming they mean Reinhardt and Ekbland are Cat 1, it seems they view the next 6 players rather equally. If that is the case then I wouldn't expect a trade to move up to 3rd pick. Again, just what I read.

The idea is to put versatile centers to play wing. Creates responsibility specially on a shutdown line. Look at Colorado. They have ROR plying wing to Duchene. My point is when you have 2 centers they play a different game then wingers. Also they can take chances in the faceoff circle. If you really want to split hairs. Nelson is also a center and I have him, Santo and Mathias on 1 line.

Maybe I'm way off but I have Reinhart as the 3rd best forward in the draft. And have ekblad as the best player. I don't think Reinhart will ever be a star 1st line player, if a first liner at all

I'm not fond of any of the deals. But a top 6-7 pick, a top prospect and a good roster player for a guy who seems to be trending backwards and has well documented character issues? Milbury would be proud

Totally forgot about that. Thanks for clarifying Marwood.

No worries. Maybe you can help me, If they reset last summer does that mean that mean that they retool this summer? This process thing can be confusing.

Edit: I'm so confused that I'm stuttering.

A top prospect that is small. We have our own history of how small players develop on this team. Secondly there is a slight chance that Shink will develop into a 30 goal scorer. A top 6-7 pick this year is about 3 years away from playing. This years draft there are maybe only 3 players that have top line caliber skill. they will be long gone by the time we pick. Kane is a proven top line player and a proven 30 goal scorer. Off ice issues, same can be said of Seguin. If a player is unhappy they will rebel. These are kids. As for a good roster player. We have enough of 3rd and 4th line players the we often use as top 6. If trading 1 of them away will net me a bonafide top 6 scoring winger I will do that trade every single time. I am all for tanking for a better pick but use that pick for something now. Young proven players in their early 20s will help this team from now for another 5-8 years. A pick will help this team in 3 years time for 8-10 years. Are you ok with the team status as is for another 2-3 years for the kids to develop?

Cody Hodgson scored and no one but Ehrhoff would give him a high five

I don't watch CHL games on a regular basis so I wouldn't be the right person to comment on that either way.

One thing I will say, if Central Scouting's #1 ranked player might not even pan out as a top liner then this draft must be the weakest in years.

Hows that? Look at Daigle, guy was considered as a clear cut #1 and a ton of players were better. Yakapov as well, although he wasn't clear cut. I can't see how the draft can be weaker then the 2012 one.
MDC is gonna be a star
