Edit: Wasn't Leier part of the Portland team that got investigated by the WHL for shady back-door doings? If so, and he was part of that, I'll count that.

If Goulbourne is supposed to be Z2, then he needs to step up his suspension rate.

We can't even waste a mid-round draft pick on energy players properly anymore!

No mention of any players involved, but those are some harsh rulings. They relinquish a ton of draft picks just for flying parents to games 2-4 times per year.

The NCAA would just give those schools a slap on the wrist.

I don't think he was the captain when they got caught.

The NCAA catches players taking hundreds of thousands of dollars on a yearly basis. They rarely deliver a big blow like this. Usually its just a loss of a few scholarships for a couple of years.

Rinaldo deserved what he got and I can't believe anyone would defend him. The hit was indefensible.

I'm guessing people bring up Neal because not all head shots are punished the same way. Basically, it's kind of what Paul Stewart said in his latest blog.

Yes, but the Rinaldo hit and the Neal hit(s) and the Murray hit and the Gudas hit etc. are all different. Rinaldo went "hunting" if you will, and took a flying leap at a player in a prone position. That has nothing to do with James Neal.
