Does the pres really need to have hockey experience ? i can see the GM but your talking about the running of the club on the businesses end of things not the hockey end . Im sure trevor has done his fair share of running his own businesses and i know the canucks is a bigger company but the day to day ops don't have to deal with hockey

If he comes aboard I sincerely hope it's to learn the ropes like Joe Sakic did for a couple of years. Hiring a guy with zero NHL executive experience, like Mike Gillis, is the wrong thing to do and it's merely history repeating itself.

I was not judging what Linden might do. I was merely speculating that if we are going with this old boys club route why note make it on the full scale. The issue from the get go was bringing in an inexperienced GM and then handing him 2 titles instead of 1. Now we want ot repeat that mistake by bringing in another inexperienced front office person. I love linden as a player and think and think can be a great GM 1 day but he needs to learn the ropes. maybe come in a VP capacity and learn the system then grow into the role. Similar to all of the other successful teams. TB, Dallas, Colorado
