Only a Tone Deaf Coach strips away a teams strengths and exposes their weaknesses. I have never seen such a drastic yet predictable outcome from hiring such a poor coach.

Gillis doesn't get a free pass for botching the Goalies, but to me this is mostly on Torts. Bright side is we have 2 goalies not eating a hole in their cap like Lou and Schnieds were. You just can't have that kind of money tied up in two goalies.

I'll be there Thursday and cheering my ass off, provided that I'm not too drunk to cheer, or already escorted out of the arena for said drunkenness.

Haven't done shrooms since 1995, not sure I could manage to exist. I have a feeling that I'd end up like Kevin's parents when they reach into that shiny white proctor silex toaster oven and touch concentrated evil.

These days every team does it. Canucks are probably not even top 5 this season, I'd bet good money on it if there was an actual way to find out. Don't really care what other fans think, because that's the truth.

Insiders were also saying that Gillis was trying to trade Luongo. I just read comments recently made by Schneider's agent stating he was told Luongo would be traded.

By Occam's razor, picking the hypothesis with the fewest assumptions as the correct one I'd say what is most logical is that Schneids usurped Luongo as starter in the mind of MG, they tried to trade Lu but failed (for whatever reason) then traded Schneids.

Affirmative, I was at the game (obviously a masochist, yes) and the booing and 'Fire Gillis' chants began around the 3 minute remaining mark (and progressively grew quite loud)

Based on what we've seen lately from this team, I would avoid playing Markstrom this season. I think he already has enough confidence issues stemming from his illustrious days in Fla.

Can't be any worse then his time with the panthers so that's a start!

We've got a pretty good goalie coach (Rollie Melanson) and I think the intent was for Markstrom to spend as much time with him as possible to "undo" any bad habits that may have thrown his development off trajectory. I'm in favor of shutting him down entirely and giving him all summer to rebuild.

That said, it sounds like Torts will be giving him a whirl in some of the remaining games.
