Pierre McGuire for GM. We will have a monster draft. - Linden_4_Capt
Jesus, isn't he the one that said Horvat was the gem of the draft and would have taken him 1st overall? |

May as well hire Cherry and see him mentor the Sedins or Edler. |

Haha... Gross. I'm sure all these filthy names are being thrown at us from the eastern media. I haven't even heard Dave McNab's name yet... |

He's less likely to get another hockey job getting fired for what seems like incompetence, than if he had walked away IMO - 1970vintage
Why? His track record will be the same. |

We've mentioned it here but that's about it. McNabb, Hextall, Julien BriseBois, Dudley have all been names brought up in this forum as possible GMs but the media will always latch on to the easiest names out there to place (such as former GMs out of work - Feaster), which means they're making stuff up or running on rumors without fact checking. |

You want to know what's really depressing? The best GM in our history is Pat Quinn, and the only reason he was so good was because it was a different time, he had a lot of favors owed to him by other GMs at the time and this was before Bettman. Everyone forgets that we only got Pavel Bure because Pat Quinn managed to use trickery to make it look like he played enough games to be draft-eligible. We got him in the 4th round when had he not been ruled eligible (after the fact) he might have gone high in the first round the next year and not been a Canuck. - DariusKnight
Quinn made tonnes of mistakes. Every GM does.
Bure might never have left Vancouver if Quinn had treated him with a little respect. Quinn's drafting was worse than Gillis' and Nonis'. And he constantly overruled his scouts to pick the guys he wanted. Can anyone say Alek Stojanov???
Look where the team was at when Quinn left. |

Pretty sure bet that Gillis isn't going to be landing an NHL executive job anytime soon. He might be able to get back in to the agent game because he is so great at getting NTC's.
On the other hand Nonis someone might just give Nonis a chance after he get's canned tomorrow. |

That's is so true. They are just scratching the surface of problems with the Lu trade and Gillis firing. |

There are those that believe it's all Gillis, so we have turned the corner, it's all good now. |
