So what do you think the challenge will be? Old School or Billy Madison styles? - Chest Rockwell
Either way, Gretz is toast... I'm an expert on "Burning Dog Poo and the Human Response". Then again, if there's a category called "My Daughter, the Tramp", just know that the fix is in... |

McPhee wouldn't be worst choice. He wouldn't be the best either. - fiveandagame
Agreed - they've drafted pretty well in Washington |

Trades - VANTEL
I would rather have McPhee then Feaster, Naslund or most of the other crazy names that have been thrown out there today. |

He's a retread, like Feaster. We need a progressive approach. |

Yes and no, they've got some key guys in their lineup (plus cody eakin) taken late in the first round or later, we have none.

Prez I could live with, General Manager no, that would be awful. |

Was he? Apart from the sleep doctor and adherence to reclamation projects I didn't see it.
Some of the names Lefty mentioned have experience drafting well and building successful franchises. Gillis was an ex player agent when he was hired and that's it.
there's a happy medium between picking a guy who's been in the league for eons and no experience whatsoever. |

Why do we all assume they are available?
For all we know they enjoy their respective franchises and are in many cases next in line to the throne anyways.
Besides, any semi-intelligent AGM or unemployed GM probably knows exactly whats going on here, and what rookie or up and comer would sacrifice his only shot as an executive for this poop show? |

Perfect, it's not about winning a cup it's about selling tickets.
The people who buy this crap deserve this ownership. |

Whoever is hired needs to bring in his team and not rely on what is here whether it is coach players or staff such as scouting. |

1. McNab(scouting guru, great eye for young talent, years of experience as a head scout and assistant GM)
2. Hextall(apparently doing a pretty good job as Kings assistant GM, learning from Lombardi who's a decent GM)
.........
3. Not sure, maybe Joe Will(assistant of Sharks, classic name) or Paul Fenton(head of Preds scouting, assistant GM, and GM's their farm club, not as high on him as others are though). |

The assumption would obviously be that they want a GM position, not an assistant GM position, would that not make sense?
Also, during the interview process they'd 100% ask for total control of the hockey side of business if they're intelligent...which those guys are. |
