Whoever is hired needs to bring in his team and not rely on what is here whether it is coach players or staff such as scouting.
- VANTEL

Exactly, the new GM needs freedom to do what he sees fit, and that's all we should ask for.

Ferraro is convinced Linden is the President tomorrow, he's pretty tight with Washington GM George McPhee. (Linden)

I don't see McPhee as a better GM than Gillis....

1. McNab(scouting guru, great eye for young talent, years of experience as a head scout and assistant GM)
2. Hextall(apparently doing a pretty good job as Kings assistant GM, learning from Lombardi who's a decent GM)

.........

3. Not sure, maybe Joe Will(assistant of Sharks, classic name) or Paul Fenton(head of Preds scouting, assistant GM, and GM's their farm club, not as high on him as others are though).

- Nucker101

He's in Philadelphia now. He'd be my pick.

I will 100% refuse to watch that crap if he is here next year.
- LeftCoaster

If he is here, The FA better emphisize Torts need to change his system to a high up tempo north south type of game.

Cause I agree. If I have to watch another season of that garbage. Well, Quite frankly, I wont be watching.

Unless Feaster plans on filling the seats himself(which we all know he's capable of), that move is gonna be a disaster.

Should have used past tense.

I'm a fellow TB fan though so it's all good.

ROR offer sheet is all that needs to be said, Feaster is a (frank)in idiot!!!

It would nice to see the new GM try to make a splash and go after a Kane or Subban ROR .

Coaches coach the systems they know and few have that flexibility to change it on a dime. If Tortorella remains in the fold, he won't steer away from dump and chase.

Gillis did that and it got him fired, so FA isn't going to do it.

Any thoughts on how Julien Brisebois has done and what his influence has been at TB?

The assumption would obviously be that they want a GM position, not an assistant GM position, would that not make sense?

Also, during the interview process they'd 100% ask for total control of the hockey side of business if they're intelligent...which those guys are.

- LeftCoaster

I believe that would be the deterrent...

We don't have a roster to do that .

Offer sheets rarely work so it would have to be a trade. Would be nice to see a GM be able to execute a hockey trade that might actually help us.

Seems to me like FA wants a well-liked type after Gillis got canned(I don't think he was well liked by some around the league). I doubt you'll see any offer sheets from the new guy, at least not right away.

I do fully expect a couple of core players traded now though.

And not one other GM knew about that... And if the Col GM was so smart he wouldn't of matched.

Even B Daly had to look it up.

Thanks though.

I know, I've been watching this season. The roster can't change and neither can the coach. Great set-up we've got here. Welcome prospective GMs!

His body of work, all-inclusive, in my opinion is better than Gillis's.

the real winner here is MG's health. Guy had some seriously high blood pressure and big ass eye bags. Seemed to get worse by the year.
