Any of you going to the next home game do me a favor, late in the 3rd period could you chant the following "FA give Steaming Lombardi 100K"
Thanks in advance.

He has wicked skill, but ya...thats why i'm leaning more towards Kapanen/Virtanen.

I would imagine EDM would trade to land the pick required to land Ekblad if they don't have it after the lottery.

Does Ehlers play with Drouin on his line?

I know they play together on the power play.

I went from 6'2" 185 - 6'4" 215 the summer I turned 18. Draft the skillset & give the kid a strength & conditioning/nutrition program. I'd take Ehlers over Virtanen 100 times out of 100.

Apparently only at times, otherwise they usually spread out the scoring.

Are you saying you were pulling a Barry Bonds, Herr Doctor

I agree, though, most youngsters don't fully fill out until their twenties - add to that a specific strength and conditioning program along with the latest diet, physical and psychological developmental tools available, and it would thus make sense to take skill over brawn (at least in most cases)

If you remember Schroeder was ranked as the 5th best skater by CSS back in 2009.

Seems like most GM's saw through his skill set and size, as he hasn't done much.

Anybody know who does the best mock drafts???

Ah, well, so long to Gillis. As Goldberg was fond of asking, "Who's Next?"

I loved Linden as a player. I have no idea if he would be any good as a GM. But it would be nice to see him given some sort of job within the organization. The guy has the kind of steady leadership presence you want on your team.

Schroeder hasn't been given an opportunity to do much. Kassian was picked 13th that year... If you compare his & Schroeder's pts per game production at the NHL level, I wouldn't write Schroeder off just yet. He just needs to be put in a position to make the most of his skillset (which if you look back at the majority of Gillis' personnel failures, was the main problem - guys were chronically misused under AV, & now Torts... Both coaches place system above flexible game planning for the talent made available to them by the GM)

Linden is safe as Prez if Nicholson is GM. I can't imagine that we would pass on Nic, unless ownership is really out of this world crazy........ Which is actually possible....

People forget that Gillis also inherited an amazing cap situation from Nonuts something like 15m in space? I was actually sorry that Nonuts got axed when he did without at least seeing how he would move forward with cap space. For sure he would have fired AV - which would have been great IMO.

Then Gillis kept AV, and went all in on Sundin, which was a fairly mediocre move compared to what could have happened.

Gillis being fired is the best news we could receive. Now fire torts and then I may watch and go to canuck games again.

Farhan reporting Gillis had an out clause and FA will be on the hook for only half the salary? He also tweeted that Torts has the same out clause.
