It should be the new GM's first task. |

Just honouring my bet with Marwood...
And since I won't be posting in the offseason, I'll continue to don this location and team throughout the 2014/2015 season.
Later, boys and girls. |

Haha f lefty, I hope we can turn this ship around. If Torts stays I'll be disappointed. I'm not a fan of Gillis, I'm just scared of the Milburays |

Not trolling, but how many millions are the Aquilinis going to eat if both Gillis and Tortorella are gone? |

I'm not gonna make up my mind on whether or not this was a good move until I see who replaced him(if it's Naslund then I'll be laughing at those who wanted Gillis fired badly). And if Torts stays I'll also be laughing. |

If they would have won last night, would Gillis still be GM today? |

I think what would make me more willing to agree to a GM change is if FA came out and said at Gillis's firing presser, "Look, I screwed up, I got too involved in the day-to-day management of the Canucks organization. I recognize that my abilities do not lie in player personnel or hockey operations. I am committed to winning and as such, the next GM that is hired by myself will have full authority and autonomy to bring the organization back to greater heights as eventual Stanley Cup champions within his term." and more then that, ACTUALLY GO THROUGH WITH IT! - DariusKnight
If you can get the canucks ownership group to do this, I'll buy you a plane ticket to Long Island.

Thanks. I thought I read $8M each somewhere, but I had no idea if that was accurate. |

Not happening. Not with his contract.
Torts deserves another season and a fresh start with a new GM that he can hopefully get on the same page with.
Gillis was a complacent arrogant blowhard who lost control of this team. MG did more damage than good (recently) and there's NO WAY that Torts should take the fall for Gillis' deficiencies. |

I have a feeling this means Torts will be back next year. They fired Gillis before he could scapegoat Torts.

You know what would make me happy, a combination of Jim Benning/David McNab (GM) with Bob Nicholson (President) and Trevor Linden (Assistant GM). Good leadership team there!! |

They've made millions and million through the Canucks to date. What's $15 million or whatever it is to get the team back on the right track? |
