I said it just moments before Gillis was fired. I don't trust this ownership to hire someone better than Gillis, I'd say there's a better chance it will be someone worse. - Nucker101
I agree. The firing feels great right now though... |

New GM with want his own coach. - LeftCoaster
and he'll get his opportunity if Torts poops the bed next year. But Torts came in during an epic gong show. He deserves 1 more year. |

I could see Bob Nicholson getting a solid look. He was great for Hockey Canada and he has great relationships with a lot of GM's in the league. - fiveandagame
Being a front office guy for Team Canada(a hockey powerhouse) doesn't impress me much. I'd take him as president since he has a good rep and likely good connections with many GM's, coaches, scouts, etc. But not as GM.

His core star players are Canadian, not european. That alone gives him a better chance at success in the playoffs - Smitty98

Torts isn't Canadian. I'd trade the Sedins for a couple of good old Canadian grinders to beef up the bottom 6. |

Yeah, a good old Canadian 4th liner could easily score at a .8/0.9 PPG rate in the playoffs! |

The franchise was worth $250 million when they bought it and it is now valued at over $700 million. Do the math ( Iggysbff just got new batteries for his Baby Einstein so he can help you.) - Marwood
