I could see Bob Nicholson getting a solid look. He was great for Hockey Canada and he has great relationships with a lot of GM's in the league.

Being a front office guy for Team Canada(a hockey powerhouse) doesn't impress me much. I'd take him as president since he has a good rep and likely good connections with many GM's, coaches, scouts, etc. But not as GM.

His core star players are Canadian, not european. That alone gives him a better chance at success in the playoffs
