If we're tanking, there's a good chance Gardiner will up his value and become a 24 minute 40 plus point d-man. Trade him after he maxes his value. Same goes with Kadri on a tank team. |

Well, look on the bright side. The Leafs are like the Panthers.
Took the Conference champs to the limit as an underdog after years of never making the playoffs, then (frank)ed off and died a slow and painful death. - AdamFrench
Then what happened?
Just so I know whether to pull the trigger or not. |

Gonna have to play without a goalie to be worse than Buffalo or Isles. I know anyone can get 1st pick now that misses the playoffs but.. |

Rookie Morgan Rielly drew universal praise for his burgeoning offensive talents while fellow youngster Jake Gardiner is seen as having a limited up-side as an offence-only type. “I see some of the things [Rielly] does instinctively and say he’s going to be really good down the road,” one scout said.
Real hockey people see through Jake Gardiner. I'll post the other that says Gardiner skates pretty but skates into no where from another GM. It's only in here he has value. |

Nah, we just have to play like we have over the last 12 games
How hard can that be? |

Skating pretty means nothing without the work in the tough areas. Back to a wimpy (frank)ing gutless lineup. But hey Ashton and D'Amigo will be our saviours. (frank) me.
- honesthockey
FFS HH, grow the (frank) up, NO ONE has said Ashton and D'Amigo will be saviours, just fourth liner fill ins, people here are getting sick of the act, contribute something worth while.
The number one priority is finding a coach with a fresh approach that is a good teacher of systems, next get a D man to play with Phaneuf because he is going no where, that pains me to say.
Next, get some two way players in the lineup, someone like a Callahan, contribute on both sides of the rink and win some battles. |

I want Kessel here. Build better support on line two and fix the (frank)ing d. Point men who get him the puck on the fly. Not when he's stopped at the blue line. |

I'm not getting into a debate about it....I'll just say I won't use Shoalts as a guy who has insider info. |

Rielly has upside. Excellent scouting.
Gardiner has limited upside. Excellent scouting.

How many man games have the Pens lost this year to their star players ??
Nobody feeling sorry for them. - bixll
how many #1 picks overall on our team?
When we pick #1 #2 #1 #2 in consecutive years...then I will expect us to roll through injuries.

if you want the Leafs to finish dead last, one of Bernier or Kessel needs to go too. - DoubleDown
just Bernier I guess, we finished 2nd last with Kessel already...wouldn't be hard to drop down 1 more. |

I think that is the big ? of the off-season. If they decide to keep him, at the very least, the captaincy needs to be removed from him. He is symbolic of three straight meltdowns. |
