I agree at this point, even though Carlyle really hasn't been there all that long.
The roster construction is not conducive to whatever it is Carlyle wants this team to do.
That team is a mess. - johndewar
It's amazing.
Their plummeting in the standings has been majestically violent and heartwarming |

It doesn't take much for me to hate the Rangers, I pretty much just need to be breathing! - BiggE
The Penguins are an enemy of relatively recent vintage... for fans of a certain age, the hate flows heavily in the direction of the Rainjahs. |

Extended PP drought for Leafs top-two scorers: van Riemsdyk has gone 23 straight games w/o PP point. Kessel with one in the last 22.
Hmm...guess JVR isn't the second coming of Gordie Howe after all
- BiggE
We win the trade. Now lets do them a solid and even it up with trading Vinny for their 1st |

I don't dislike the Leafs, generally.
I hated those Leafs teams with Darcy Tucker, Domi, and Corson and all those guys when the Flyers were playing them in the playoffs.
But I can remember watching and admiring Wendell Clark. |

I am looking forward to seeing Luke Schenn play in the playoffs. He's never been there before and he's played over 430 NHL games at the age of 24. |

I used to like Domi, back when he was a stand up guy and he had those 2 big fights with Probert. I also liked it when he sucker-punched Ulf Samuelsson. Then the whole McCarthy/Berube/Burt/Richardson/Boucher thing happened and lost all respect for him. Darcy Tucker, aside from that devestating hit on Sami Kapanen, is a guy I would have absolutely loved on the Flyers. Dude never ran from his problems. And I always liked Corson, seemed like a "hard-nosed" guy.
That said, much like the Rangers but to a lesser degree, I hated them all once they put on the Leafs jerseys regardless of who they were. And that's the thing about the Penguins rivalry. Right now, yes, it's crazy, and probably the top one in the NHL. But it's not to much a Flyers-Penguins rivalry as it is a Flyers-Crosby rivalry. Prior to Crosby, there was no rivalry. Sure, there's guys there we don't like (Neal, Malkin, Letang) but every team has that. However, the Rangers (and Devils) are team that you would hate no matter who they had or where they were in the standings. Even today, I find a win against the Rangers much more satisfying that a win over the Penguins. |

In order for Nonis to save his job, he should trade JVR for a third pairing defenseman. - PLindbergh31
Hey watch it! Third pair guys don't grow on trees you know, and especially not at 3.6 mil per! |

Okay, they can have Gervais.
Oh, you meant NHL third pair, never mind. |

You know what's nice to know. Is that the Flyers have plenty of 3rd pair defenseman, with Schenn. And that they don't need a #1 defenseman, because they already have one in Coburn. That's going to make Holmgren's job a lot easier this Summer, knowing he doesn't have to go out and get a #1 defenseman. |

Does Lecavalier replace Coburn at the top of the list of players that have to be traded? |

Actually I think they really could use a right handed shut down defenseman.
It's ironic. |

He was a cheap little bastard then, too.

Did he play for Tampa? I know he played in Colorado but forgot about TB.
Edit: I wasn't even aware of him until the series where LeClair got that horrendous elbowing call late in Game 5. So, yeah, my bad. I only knew him as a Leaf. |

He mixed it up with the Dan Line once. He opened up a tired Dan Lacroix in a fight, but this was after Lacroix had already gone with and engaged Andrei Nazarov, who was pretty much a large Russian bear of a dude.
I just never liked Tucker and thought he was a punk. |

God Damn I hated Tucker. He has no honor and only played physical in his home sweater. Put a road sweater on that punk and he disappeared faster than an 8 ball in
Rob Fords coffee table.
He was a total dirtbag.
I also agree on Domi, I broke a remote when he was cheap shotting Burt, looking over his shoulder, throwing another punch. (frank) him.

They need someone to play with Coburn if Kimmo retires. |
