Booner's going to love this, he's lying before he's officially hired. - A_SteamingLombardi
It's gonne be weird seeing people rip on a guy like Linden when/if it comes to that down the road. |

Linden admitted he wasn't being truthful with the denial on his morning TV spot Tues. Was put in a tough spot. Aplogized to hosts
Linden has been in office for 4 minutes and has already apologized for more lies then Gillis during his entire tenure. - fiveandagame
It's funny because its true! |

Sounds like Nashville might not extend Trotz's contract this summer...
For the record I absolutely don't want to see him behind our bench. |

Yeah, I feel happy and sad for Trevor, it all depends how much of his soul he has sold today. |

Linden just dropped the ball said he spoke to guys like Neely, Yzerman, Sakic the last few days, so this was in the works before the chant. |

Linden Paraphrased: Offense doesn't need to be sacrificed by playing sound defensive hockey.
Tortorella is a goner. Unless Linden is lying again. |

You don't really believe that the chant was the reason for Gillis being fired do you? |

This is why I didn't want him to be hired. No matter what, unless the Canucks win a Cup within his contract term (whatever that is) he's going to end up being as much of a lightning rod of criticism as Gillis was, and maybe more since he's Trevor F***ing Linden and the most beloved figure of the Canucks. He may not be the GM, but they've made it clear that he makes all the final decisions and that means he'll be the one having to take the heat for them. I've always maintained the reason we're so hard on players, coaches and GMs of the team is because we have such an inferiority complex over never winning the Cup, and being one of the few franchises that hasn't at least once. The thing that makes me relax is that FA stated that he'll have the authority and autonomy to make all the decisions necessary. It's just a matter now of him making the right ones (hiring a good GM and firing Torts).

It's OK. He will apologize for it after.
I'm sure Linden will leave the coaching decision with the GM. Of course the GM will be hired based on what type of team they want so I guess it kind of goes hand in hand. |

Linden never won a cup as a player but can still walk on water in Vancouver. I think once the GM is hired the only time you see Linden is for Photo Ops and other PR events. |

Interesting. Gillis had me convinced after his last interview as GM. |
