Gaudreau and Ghost are both finishing their junior seasons. In order to become UFA's, they'd have to wait until August 15th after their senior seasons. Until then, they can only sign with the organization that holds their rights.

I want the flyers to win/lose the games to position themselves against Pittsburg. I think if we let CBJ get ahead of us they'll play NYR and we get Pitts. Be careful if we get leaped by Detroit ....we get boston.......I want to play Pitts in the 1st round.....we can beat them, we have their number!

College is only good at showing that you can finish what you committed to doing....im a software engineer and i have a BS in comp sci... I learned more in the first 6 months on the job than 4 years in college.

In Gaudreau's situation, the nuance I believe is with controlling negotiating rights. If he goes back for his senior year, and then de-registers from school effectively ending his college career early, the Flames then suddenly have 30-days to get him inked, after which everybody can talk to him up until Aug 15, when he's eligible to sign a contract.

Maybe I'm not reading that right... it's damned confusing, because age when drafted and playing junior hockey post-draft figure into the equation:

That's the idea: the incentive to do it is greatly reduced now.

I'm not saying they'll win, but I don't think we're guaranteed to lose if we play NYR. We have a bad record at MSG, but that's in the regular season with large gaps between games. It's my hope that, over a series of games in successive days, they could grind the Rags down.

Yeah. My son and I are waiting out the prices for the finals. I'm hoping they drop after today's games. Maybe Saturday morning or some thing. I have a price point I'm looking for since I just bought tix for Sunday.
