Gus played the game in St. Louis. But prior to that I think he sat at least 15 straight games. - PLindbergh31
That's right, he did. He was ok in that game, did he play with LSchenn?
I can't remember. I know kimmo was the guy out against StL, maybe Gus played with Coburn?

Which means what? Being an underdog really means nothing. - MJL
It means, IMO, that they have a less than 50% chance of making to the 2nd round. |

I suspect yesterday's CAWLIDGE HAWKEY tilt with Union will do nothing to dampen the enthusiasm for the Ghost. |

My realistic expectations:
If they get Boston and manage to win two games, they will have played very well against the best team.
If they get the NYRs and play very well, I expect them to win.
Pittsburgh, any result either way wouldn't surprise me and it will be wild either way. - Marc D
I'm pretty much on board with this:
vs. Boston, they go out in 5 or 6
vs. NYR, it goes 7, could really go either way
vs. Pens, who the heck knows, trying to predict a Flyers/Pens series is pretty much impossible.

It sucks because now he can't run the point on our PP against the Pens this weekend |

All it means is one team is favored. The play on the ice is going to decide who wins. Underdog means squat. |

I can't recall. I believe MacDonald was paired with Streit that game, and Grossmann with Coburn. So Gus would have been with LSchenn |

I didn't see the game, but I heard he played well. Didn't he have 2 assists? |

The second one I thought he scored a goal. Maybe it was tipped in. It was a one timer, huge rocket of a shot from the blue line. First assist was a high wrister going over the net that the goalie flubbed off his glove right to a Union guy who had an open net.
He made some great plays in his D zone. A couple of times BC had huge forechecking pressure, and ghost would get the puck, calmly skate it behind his net and get his team out of trouble. He looked great. |

And then, just as MJL finishes his statement, Mike Eruzione cries "BUT THE UNDERDOG NEVER WINS!" |

Great to hear. I've seen him play a handful of times and came away impressed by his all around game. I wish he was 6'2" 215, but it sounds like he has a bright future. |

Which we can use to extrapolate he's not the head of player safety.

Absolutely
I'd much rather him screw up the Leafs than screw up handing out suspensions!!

That, sadly, is true.
The league, and I mean Bettman and the owners, care much, much more about $$$$ than they ever will about player safety |

Custer was an underdog at Little Big Horn. Things played out well for him on the Battlefield. Luckily for him it wasn't fought on paper. |

Good hire for the Leafs. I think Shanahan will do a good job. Who is taking over Shanahan's role with the NHL? - PLindbergh31
I'm voting for Kate Upton. Since Bettman and the owners really control things, they might as well go with someone who is easy on the eyes!! |

Union's player roster lists him at 5 11 but I think they are exaggerating his height. |

Haha... As long as it isn't Colin Campbell. Because having a Son playing in the League isn't a conflict of interest or anything. |

Hopefully we can say the same about the Leafs franchise. |
