I just remember the last game at MSG. Not only did we lose but I was bored to death. I don't even think they're that good. - mayorofangrytown
The last game at MSG followed the same pattern as the others at MSG. I have very little confidence the Flyers can beat the Rangers. They just don't matchup well with them. Of all the playoffs teams in the East, the Rangers are the 2nd to last team I'd want to face. |

I was more frustrated then bored but of course I get what you are saying.
Just have to stay positive, forget past history and see what happens. |

For whoever was asking about AMac's zone-entry defense numbers, here's the full report:

His advanced stats look terrible, but he looks good when I watch him.
His numbers with Luke Schenn look good though. |

Beating the Rangers for me would show they have the right coach.
I had no faith with Lavi at the helm against NYRs, and even against the Devils.
It is a real challenge for the coach and the team. |

His numbers could be skewed due to sample size, but it looks like teams prefer to challenge his side of the ice more and they're pretty successful at gaining the line w/ possession against him.
No surprise that Coburn is heads and shoulders above the rest. Nobody seems to want to challenge Gill and his 25-foot stick either in the few games he played.
Edit: I think where AMac shines is initiating transition with a quick, short first-pass. Defensively and possession... jury's still out on his worth. |

I say bring the Rangers on. There is no doubt in my mind that they can beat them. |

The thing is the Flyers have beaten the Rangers the two games in Philly this year and outplayed them by a good margin in at least 4 of the 6 periods.
I have no clue why they can't compete at MSG. The Rangers aren't a particularly good team at home. 19-17-4. Pretty awful. |

So I just heard that an NHL GM gets about 10,000 in pension for every year he's a GM. That's a pretty good pension. |

Would you rather have Mac at $4.5M, Niskanen at $6M, Boyle at $6M for 2 years or Markov at $6M for 3 years? |

If you put a gun to my head, I'd pick Markov.
Otherwise, I think those are all potential albatross contracts (assuming Niskanen gets 7-years). |

No joke, it's the ice. Their PP is flat on the ice out there, and I think in turn, it doesn't allow them to exploit the Rangers via the PP, like they do to most teams. Their PP is their bread-and-butter for the most part. It creates momentum for them, it gives them confidence, and it keep the play in the offensive zone.
I notice in games where the Flyers PP is bad, or the team they're playing defends it really well, the whole game they look flat and have trouble generating good quality scoring chances. So, to tie this all back up, I think the ice factors HEAVILY into the Flyers' play at MSG. This is just a personal theory of mine, based on what we've seem from them over the past three years playing there. |

Nah. He's the size of a Keebler elf, and his +/- blows. |

I agree that the Flyers rely heavily on their PP, but other teams are heavy PP teams as well, and they don't seem to have any issues winning at MSG. The Flyers have to break through and win a game there to get the place out of their heads. |

I really hope there is some sort of plan in place to get a legit first pairing stud on board. Paying fringe guys between 4-5.5 range isn't working. |

I hope we win the cup before our country gets taken over.
I'm putting all my hopes and dreams into this team. So when they get swept in the first round, expect angry posts! |

Fantastic. All we need is a goalie controversy to start the playoffs. |
