.. Its none of your business how old I am... Rick is still incredible at his job he's on the second to last game of the worst season he's ever had to sit threw at his age.. I'm dreading the day he retires and Dunleavy takes over.. there's nothing I have against him but he's far from thrilling.. If we had some exciting moments this season I'm sure Rick would be back to his usual A game but because this has been such a forgettable season I'm not so quick to say he's over the hill

Someone tell them we have 30th place locked up. They can win now.

He's not the best anymore by any stretch. He makes multiple mistakes in most games. The guy is in his 70s I think. Can't really fault him for slipping.

I know RJ is calling a reduced schedule next season, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him call it a day after this year.

I read they didn't have any intention of signing him because they were concerned about his hip. We should have been.

Figured its something we could all agree on here.. I frankly don't care if he screws up a name once and a while as long as he still brings that great energy and with how poorly we've played this year he's done better than guys half his age.

Just saying he's one of the big name guys these days.. I lived in New York City for three years and I'm moving back there in a few months I had the NHL network when I was there and sat through every announcer in the league.. No one even comes close to RJ's enthusiasm and vibrato in his voice

Actually I knew it was condescending because now your assuming I'm young but I do remember Van and remember him retiring as well didn't think he was past his prime at all but respected his retirement.. I respect RJ's too but for fans to say he's not good any more pisses me off because he's pretty much the only good thing left in this team right now except for a few young guys..

I have to ask, how old are you? The only reason I ask that, is because we've been through something like this before with Van Miller and the Bills. But depending on your age, you may not have experienced that.

Sorry for being harsh.. but I just think its completely ridiculous to be harping on a legend like RJ... a few minor mistakes happen when your doing play by play... the guy whose replacing him is hardly game changing so excuse me if I'd like to hold onto one of the best guys in the league at what he does

If you were a Sabres fan in the 80s and 90s, the RJ of today would make you sad. Which I think is what Goose is trying to tell you. Van Miller was one of the best football announcers ever and when he got old he just had seriously lost a step.
