With the way the Flyers have played down the stretch, especially in the 3rd period, it's not meaningless at all. The team defense and gap control was horrendous. Easy skates for the Pens, the entire game that I saw. This is about more then just playing the Pens.

I do I have to admit I don't like the win. They did it on the scoreboard but Pittsburgh pushed them around all game, took runs at their players and took out Mason.

The Flyers played robotic, and didn't stick up for eachother. Its about more than the scoreboard at times imo.

I agree that the Flyers got outplayed. Not sure what robotic is all about. But I disagree that they didn't stand up for each other.

I think they had the bigger picture in mind. If the opportunity does not present itself what do you? Risk a suspension before the playoffs? Lose the game and risk playing Boston in the first?

Exactly....Look at how the Pens came unglued last time they met in playoffs. Let those guys be the ones who get suspended no sense in taking bad penalties or like you said risk suspension. I'm in the minority but I like our chances against the Rangers. For one they are due and if im not mistaken have played the Rangers pretty tight and split season series.

I will say, after watching a story about Moore and his wife who passed away of cancer just now on CBC.

If they do end up beating the Flyers, I cant help but wish him all the best. He deserves nothing but greatness.

While I certainly sympathize with Letang and his condition, and hope he remains okay from it. But the bottom line is if Letang needs to be protected, and not treated just like any other player on the ice, then get him off the ice.

Honestly, it really wasn't a cheap shot. Two guys fighting to the net, and the Pen guy pushed MacDonald into Mason. I don't think it was intentional to bowl over Mason. And seriously, Megna isn't going to fight anyone. So if you go after him, you risk injury or a suspension if things get out of hand. Not worth it. What you do is the smart thing. Remember the player, and file it away, for a more fitting time.

Wife made me leave the house to go with her to the store with 1:55 left in game.

Set it all up to record the remainder of the game and the next show after it just in case.

Got home, got ready to watch it, and the DVR didn't record the game.
