Seriously though, think drug-abuse in the league is probably not rare. Between pain-killers, PEDs and rec drugs, the league just does a lousy job of testing and admitting any problem at all. Until something like Malone or Boogaard comes to light, then they still try to make it sound like an outlier. |

I know you always want to finish the best you can going into the playoffs but imo, the Flyers best chance at going to the 2nd round is playing the Pens. - Daveflyers36
the best chance for the flyers to go deep would be to face the rags ans find a way to beat them playing focused hockey for 60 minutes consistently. flyers beat the pens in and then got swept last time around i think |

I really hope that they can find an extra gear to try and get a win in New York if they play them.. in 2012, we beat the Pens in 6 but then couldn't handle NJ and lost in 5 in round 2 as I remember.. Funny thing is, Florida pushed NJ to game 7 and had that game at home.. lost in OT.. I remember praying that Florida win that game as I just wanted rid of the Devils from the playoffs... bad matchup for us.. |

I'm surprised the pens would dress a full lineup with knowing a pens win would inch them one step closer to a pens/flyers first round match up. If not mistaken it was a few years ago they sat crosby and other players in a game against the flyers and threw that game so they wouldnt get the flyers in the first round. |

I suspect they might be hoping to push the Flyers to 8th so we play the Bruins. I personally would sit their top players so as to avoid injury and rest them. |

Hoping....no, that's too strong. Not minding is better. Not minding if the Flyers win today. I want Columbus in the first round, better matchup for the Pens. If you people could get your team to have just won earlier this week, it wouldn't have come to this. I blame you....so get your sh*t together and root our/your team on to a victory.
You all will have to counsel me on how it feels to pull for the Flyers. What curses do I yell at Crosby? If Scott Hartnell buries James Neal with a stupid cross check that leads to a Pens winning PP goal do I feel pride or anger at Hartnell? Pats or Genos? its all So confusing! - Emperor Filonius
poor poor james neal, must be hard for him to be so victimized.

Scenario 4: If the Flyers lose in regulation today and the Panthers find a way to beat the Blue Jackets in regulation, Philadelphia would win the Metro regardless of tomorrow's outcome against Carolina.
thought the Penguins wrapped that up weeks ago

No doubt.
Though its funny that Kimmo Timonen, who is the oldest player on the club, came back from the Olympics re-energized and has been playing very well down the stretch. - BiggE
I really cant imagine this team without him.
He has been suck a rock on that back-end, elevating the game of every player he has played with. They have nobody that can come close to replacing a player of his caliber, even at his age. I will miss him. |

No, that's just how much a regulation win for the Panthers is worth. |

Step one: hate Crosby and Neal.

do this at your own risk. once you turn, that's it. you'll realize how easy it is to despise the penguins and actually love the flyers. then, a range of emotions will take over and you'll be confused, loathe yourself, yet feel freedom is upon you while welcoming the notion that pretty much everyone else hates you without reason. good luck.

Word on the street is Hal Gill makes his triumphant return to the lineup today after a 45 game vacation. Hopefully Berube gets him out there as much against Crosby as possible. |
