Talbot in the lineup every game for a 100+ point team, Downie scratched for goon Jay Rosehill.

Great play by Jokinen to skate in a straight line up the middle of the ice as hard as he can, receiving a 7 foot pass, and ripping an uncontested snapshot from the slot for a goal.

Stats aside, I think Downie has been at best nothing more than a warm body since that first injury.

Assuming they plan on Laughton taking that spot next year.

As a team speed is an issue imo. I don't need to impose that belief on others if they don't feel the same.

In the big picture it probably doesn't matter, but it would be good for them to get into a nice groove before the playoffs. They have slumped lately.

It would also be good to get your goaltender into a nice hot streak. At the end of the day it doesn't matter come playoff time, but I do not think these games are completely meaningless.

Flip the switch, meh... Thankfully though, they have made the big show. That first round match-up will be hard either way, so we will see.

So does Downie. He instantly transforms that 3rd line with Coots and Read to a real threat, more so than anyone else that tandem has played with.

It's kind of a double edged sword. "Meaningless" is certainly not the right word because let's face it- no game is truly "meaningless". You're in the dance, so you want to keep winning and clicking etc but you also want to rest some bodies.

Plus it's always nice to beat the Penguins.

Wow, the Flyers can't get the puck or skate with it into the offensive zone. When they do have it which is briefly they're prone to hail mary passes that get easily cut down and intercepted.
