.116 is like 3 beers or at a game two jumbos. O whose kidding who here you never had two large beers at a game and drove home and I've hit that same curb off Platt Street more than once and not had a drink, it's confusing as hell there.

I don't drink at games, because I try not to around my kids. I've had two beers this year and one was last night while on date night with the wife AND she drive home.

I don't know from first hand experience but I suspect drugs and alcohol are prevalent in all pro sports. There is too much money and these players are treated like Gods. They would have access to anything they want, anytime. I'm sure there are many who choose not to become involved with that scene but they would be in the minority. Hopefully Malone gets help and his play improves once he shapes up and he earns a chance to play for a few more years.

For those saying he had some coke at a party and he was drunk and does it at parties only then turn around and say it was .116 it's 3 beers makes no sense , if you are drunk and do it only at a party you have had more than 3 beers to be drunk and you don't have possession of it on ur way back home .. I feel he's a regular user , he even looks like a hardass and sure get help , but I have no sorry feelings and do not think he should be permitted to be on the team either . There's too many young guys in this organization to be soft and tolerant with this behaviour . What kind of example is that setting . Wish him the best in his recovery program and send him on his way . It's a business , there's zero time for emotional feelings and friendships to get in the way of making business decisions . (frank) that

I was a pro athlete, big deal, we as pro athletes are some of the most insular people out there because of all the sacrifices we made to get to whatever level we attained.

Yet, I don't care if anyone believes that, lets drop that aspect of my commentary. All that I will say, is that unless something has changed in the last five years, most pro athletes, still, drink, use drugs and have constant extra curricular sex, much more than the average person on the street.

Why? Because they can, and also because they finish games at ten PM at night most times. And do you see anyone coming down from all that adrenaline any time soon, at that time of night? No, you don't, 80% of the team heads out, to try and pack in as much fun as they can, before any type of imposed curfew.

But like I said, if you eliminated the alcoholics and the drug users, you would, in my humble and self researched opinion, have a league the size of pre expansion 1967, or even smaller.

Maybe that would be a good thing, we wouldn't be subjected to all the young players that enter the NHP prematurely.

Ok, everything you said is fine, but you still don't need to waltz in here and start calling people doofus' .. really? I freaked out earlier cause i'm immature and that rattled me, but it still wasn't right of you to do that

And this would be the last time I read anything by Stuart.

What a load of crap some writers, no thats too complimentary, bloggers will throw out on this site. Stuart just dragged this guys entire career through the mud for clicks, without knowing what actually happened. Typical sofa "journalism"....read someone else's report, rewrite and turn it edgy for clicks.

Hyper-opinionated individuals like Stuart shouldn't be allowed access to the internet!

Shouldn't be kept out of the locker room, yes.
Should his teammates as a group or individually be able to go and help him, yes.
Should the team help them through every step of the rehab process, yes.
Is the DUI the stupidest thing he did, absolutely yes!

As I and many here have stated that the cocaine isn't the issue, that's his personal choice. The main issue is his DUI arrest and endangering everyone around him.

If he is just doing a line of blow at a party like most ppl suggest, why do you have 1.3 grams in your pocket on the way home? its simple, because hes not just doing it at a party

Agreed, but let's not pretend that cocaine doesn't ruin lives too.

I'm right with you on the dangers of the DUI.
