I'm excited to see the young guys play.
Personally, I think the Red Wings are the best team Boston could have pulled. Anyone else would have been too easy. With their arch-rivals in town, I look for Boston to have to battle right out of the gate to get wins. I think this will help put the team in the right mindset going forward so they can run roughshod over the rest of the Eastern Conference.
GO BRUINS!!!!
(Bruins defeat Red Wings in 6). |

Watching these games has been a chore to say the least. How someone didn't just slap Marchand is a surprise to me today. I feel like jagar or broduor should have just slapped him barehanded with his shenanigans at the end of the game. |

Why? If we can't get our crap together this year out of the gate then I don't know if julien will ever be able to motivate the team himself WITHOUT some outside incident or SHOCK moment happening.
We are the better team, we should win this in five or six. If not and we get bounced like we did against the Caps or in the second round against the Canes a few years ago then this is a BIG problem in my book.
We have ELITE talent in every position, we have GREAT leaders, and a PROVEN system. If this isn't enough to beat a beat up Wings team that is really in transition from older Great players to a younger generation .......I'm going to be fricken pissed to say the least. |

100% agree with this. The Red Wings will likely be a challenge, but if they do manage to beat us in a seven game series, then the Bruins coaches and players need to take a long, hard look in the mirror. Because the only team in the East who can beat the Bruins is the Bruins. |

If we don't make a hard core push in these playoffs then we begin to look like the buffalo bills of Super Bowls.
The track record is scary to me and our runs require a SHOCK AND LUCK, that has to change. Last year we needed the leafs and luck to get motivated, we failed to get motivated the year before against the Caps, the year before it was losing two in a row at home to the Habs and a game seven OT win, the year before that it was the most epic series collapse with the Flyers coming back from a 3-0 hole in the series AND in game seven, the year before it was a top seeded b's team losing in game seven OT to Eric Stall and the fricken Canes, etc.
This year had me feeling more comfortable then ever as far as consistency goes with these guys BUT with our very crappy track record in self motivation and playing DOWN to the talent....ugh.
No excuses this year, s h I t or get off the pot. We have a team and talent that could give the Wings dynasty of the 90s a run for there money, seriously. |

Our 5th/6th D pair will be exposed big time. I see it being competitive, but the without Zetterberg and Ericsson (like last year), it is even more a long-shot than last year vs the Ducks.
Those Wings teams in the 90's and the cup year of '02 had notorius early round difficulties. As a Wings fan from that era (and before), I prayed for a team the was trending down instead of a hungry team. Many a spring turned disappointment because of a low seed, low pressure, hot goal tender.
Don't know what to say regarding the hypothetical match up from those Scotty Bowman led teams vs Bruins of today and all the rule changes. All I know is the record setting team of 62 wins (in '96) was taken to 6 tough games by a Winnipeg Jets team that had like 40 points less. They never recovered and lost to the Avs in 6 the next round.

It usually is the first round. Takes some time for these teams to get the emotion brewing. I hope to god this is not the case this year.
But, I wouldn't be surprised, if a young hungry healing team is the B's Achilles heal. |

I like this match, Bruins will win, but I would rather have a strong first round opponent that a cakewalk that leaves Bruins soft. |

I think is going to be a good series but Bruins are the better team. What I hope is they do not try and skate with the wings as NOBODY on the B's will catch guys like Datsyuk and Nyquist. The need to be pressured and made as irrelevant as possible.
I also hope that Columbus beats Pittsburgh simply because (frank) Pittsburgh. |

The Bruins are the sh!t this year. You should be glad to have the test against a western style team like the Wings. If you can hold up against the Wings speed and puck possession then the rest should be a cake walk as we know the Bruins can handle the physical stuff.
The way the Bruins system finds young d men is amazing. They just step in and you keep rolling. You play a classy physical style (in spite of Marchand). Unlike the Blues - the Bruins just keep it physical up and down the lineup. The Blues by contrast focus on the top of the other team's lineup and play it cheap.
If it can't be the Hawks I am all in for the Bs. I really can't see this being the year for the Hawks (tread on the tires and key injuries) but hope I am wrong.
For the most part you lost the cup with class last year and I would love to see Iginla get a cup. Know a number of other Hawk season tix holders who feel the same way.
Good luck in the playoffs. If you aren't playing Toews and company many in Chicago will be rooting for you. |

No the record was 18 in 2011 when we won the cup, which beat the old record of 17 after the Philly comeback in 2010 |

If the B's win the series, I will root for them myself.
It's nice to see a strong Original 6 presence. I remember back when you (and the Hawks) were having the rough spell a few years back. It's almost like a sibling not doing well. It was quite disturbing for a lack of a better word.

I love having Detroit in our conference this year, it used to be such a special treat to play them, even this year they were games that got circled right away, they've all been good games. I'm seeing the Bruins as the better team, sucks about paille, but maybe this is a chance to give someone, anyone, even one of the ice girls, a shot before I see Caron again. He's this years chris Bourque. |

I Know what everyone is saying about if they cant get it together and all that BS, but the playoffs is all about matchups. Let's face it. If there is a system or a style so to speak the B's have a hard time with it's THIS ONE, speed on the outside and that break-away pass up the middle that seems to give them fits. Montreal and Detroit are 2 teams that must have had at least 2 or 3-break aways in each game, and I mean CLEAN breaks, they are going to be coached to tighten up in the middle and that's where those outside speed teams can wreak a little havoc. Let's just say Game-1 it's 0-0 towards the end of the 2nd and BANG there's that break-away again. Let's hope Tuukka can hold the fort a few times. Momentum is Killer
I see the Bruins in 7. THIS ONE IS ALL ABOUT TUUKKA. |
