Those stories always crack me up. These guys make all this money yet wear equipment from when they were in Jrs because they're superstitious about it. Biron had the same pair of skates that he wore for what seemed like an eternity. He just kept having the blades and laces replaced. - HonkFortheGoose
Hockey players in general are very weird about their equipment. Especially goalies. I am the same way about my ref stuff. I have had the rivets and eyelets replaced on my skates numerous times. Once you have them broken in just how you like it they are hard to let go of |

I think he means Isles keep the pick in 14 defering the pick to Buffalo in 15.
Isles then trade the 14 pick for NHL d-man and top 9 forward.
Thus not drafting in the first round 2 years in a row. - ImThatGuy
i guess...technically it isnt drafting for 2 years, but as an isles fan if they leave the draft having traded away their first rounder, id be more than ok with (skip the development phase)...assuming its a good return. |

I would imagine this is why Pegula paid a ton of money to have a crazy ventilation system installed into each one of the lockers in the locker room. I can't even imagine the smell in there. |

I think Weber is wearing the same skates he wore when he was 6. |

Hockey equipment in general smells something foul. Even wearing new stuff for one game or practice. |

I know u think ur a defender and a coach away from returning to the playoffs but I don't see boston missing any time soon, philly, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Montreal and the rangers missing next season. Now u have to ask yourself will the devils find a way like they always do or Washington return to play as they should. Also can't rule out Detroit. U guys made the playoffs in a shorten season just like the leafs. Glad u guys did, rooted for u but it's weird to be called a troll bcz I see ur team differently than a homer does. The west is much better than the east so in all likelyhood u guys could finish as a bottom 7 team. - joshs
Well I guess this has proven to be not true. You're the same guy that said trading Tavares and Okposo would be a good idea. |

If you think they will tank again next season or try to, you are mistaken. - SABRES 89
Your team will never tank with Nolan as coach. |

no its not technically, it is literally, if they trade their 2014 pick, we get their 2015 1st. Then they literally wouldnt draft in the first round for 2 years. |

I only got buffalo twice the 10 times I tried it. Had the jets, islanders, flames, oilers and panthers. We were second for all of them though. |

haha...true; you got me.
but in the islanders circumstance, id rather come out of the draft with a player than a prospect. so while they wont be drafting for 2 years, id be ok with that assuming they get a player in 2014 |

I get your logic behind it. It makes sense for the most part. My thinking is can the Islanders sacrifice 2 years of not drafting (in the 1st round and 2nd round this year) and not restocking the prospect cupboard? Not many teams are in position to be able to do that. Are the Islanders? |

Better start putting some talent around Tavares or he will be asking for a trade . Then they are back at square one.

What makes you say that? Not being condescending or anything just very curious. Considering most of your high end prospects will be Islanders next year. |
