Thanks, yeah I came across that one already, just listed played by position, not team by team, pretty brutal. Thanks for taking a look though - DDM-Coga
Good luck on your quest. |

MAybe. Doesn't mean he can't though. Here ya go roof top owners. You win. Enjoy looking at a parking lot. - Elbows15
I just hope that when the mayor of Rosemont offered them the parcel of land for free that Ricketts at least looked into it.. |

checks. weather was fine. NEXT. You must have forgotten the days when Wrigley would close the upper decks. - Elbows15
Certainly remember closing the upper deck.
$.60 for the bleachers, $1.25 for unreserved grandstand - and 4,500 in the house.
Closed the 2nd balcony for Bulls games, too.
Never for the Hawks, tho. |

But never authorized a study and plan, which would have put some pressure on The City. |

Never will understand why the Trib did sign that deal - rooftop owners WERE stealing product - certainly the Cubs could have shut them down. - StLBravesFan
That neighborhood was a poop hole too. Harry Carey made it the place to be. Not the product on the field. No wonder there is a statue of him out there.
And FYI. I am Sox fan now and have been for over 30 years. I WAS a Cub fan growing up until I said enough of this crap. So I spent a lot of time at Wrigley. |

I was referring to you calling me Blows Beav.
And I never claimed the Sox had more fans. We are just smarter and don't flock to a dump. |

Me too...since late 70's. Think living in an American League city tilted me to follow the A.L. more closely and when Baines came along, i was HOOKED. He is forever my Sensei.

Wrigley could have bought the buildings on Waveland and Sheffield in the forties and fifties for nothing.
As for the White Sox - one championship, some good teams in the "go-go Sox" fifties and the Frank Thomas nineties - other than that not a much better record than the Cubs. |

I changed teams in 1980. They both sucked. I went to Comisky a lot too. My family is pretty split down the middle. So we would to Sox games too. My old man loved baseball. The Cubs and he loved the Yankees too. |

Well, 1 is better than none. But it was more to do with the Sox took shots and the Cubs didn't. |

Gentrification made the neighborhood more than Carey or the Cubs - young money moved into the neighborhood, followed by bars and restaurants followed by more young money followed by more bars and restaurants. If the Cubs left, Wrigleyville would continue on just fine.
Just glad there's no public money (that we know of) involved now. |

The work they have done over the years have really given the park some character since it first opened. That has helped a lot. And the food is good. |

Nice. Went to Wrigley once in '77 on a family visit. My Dad's side loved the Shrubs. The day i went, Rick Reuschel was on the hill and i remember being mesmerized by the 7th inning stretch ritual. Had never been to a ball game before. Good memory.

It is an excellent ballpark - could have been better had it been built two or three years later - after Camden Yards - but a good evening's outing.
And - I like a lot of the restaurants around the Bridgeport area. |

Old man Wirtz just about drove me away from hockey Sage. I would tune in to catch a bit or watch other teams and the playoffs but I wouldn't go to a Hawks game. |

Agreed Sage. But they really have changed it to give it a more unique feel and have done a really good job with it. IMO. Plus. Its super easy for me to get to. |

Same here....when I grew up and as I got older it was Larmer, Wilson, Belfour, Savard, Manson, Amonte, Roenick, etc..... and he got rid of all of them and I decided to go on a self imposed strike. Followed the Bruins, Islanders, and Kings....... |
